Surrey are in control after the first day of their County Championship Division One clash against Derbyshire

Edwards celebarted his first championship appearance of the season wit figures of 3-29, while Linley mopped up the tail to finish with 4-59 as the visitors were bundled out for just 219.
Chris Tremlett struck with the fourth ball of the day as Ben Slater edged a lifter to first slip before Paul Borrington and Wayne Madsen dropped anchor for the next 18 overs.
Madsen made a painstaking 11 from 58 balls before driving Edwards to cover point, and Borrington's 107-ball 32 ended just after lunch when he egded an attempt cut off the impressive Edwards.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul upped the rate with a sprightly 46 featuring six boundaries, but he was then adjudged lbw to Edwards as Derbyshire slipped to 109-4.
Richard Johnson (23) was bowled by Linley and Alex Hughes missed a paddle sweep off Zafar Ansari, while Gareth Batty claimed his first championship wicket since mid-May when he trapped Peter Burgoyne lbw.
Tom Poynton dug in to craft 37 and looked set to see the visitors through to stumps alongside David Wainwright until Linley struck again.
Poynton was caught behind and Matt Higginbottom was caught low down at second slip before Linley ended the innings when Mark Footitt chipped a catch to mid-off.
Surrey had four overs to negotiate before the close, and Arun Harinath came close to being run out and Rory Burns survived a confident appeal for caught behind as they closed on 8-0.
