Gloucestershire fast bowler David Payne has agreed a new contract which keeps him at Bristol until 2019.

The left-arm seamer has become a key component of Gloucestershire's attack in all formats in recent seasons.

He joins Craig Miles, Matt Taylor, Benny Howell, Liam Norwell and George Hankins in committing their futures to the club in recent weeks.

Payne told the club's website: "We are a very tight-knit squad and we spoke in the dressing room about how important it was for us to stay together.

"To have so many of the guys committing their future to the club, was massive for me and is also great for the club.

"I believe if we can continue to develop and improve as we have done over recent seasons we can have a lot of success in the future."

Gloucestershire head coach Richard Dawson said: "Payney had a very good season in the County Championship. He performed with great consistency and it has been pleasing to see him continue to develop in this format.
