Gloucestershire captain Michael Klinger has been ruled out of action for up to three week after breaking his toe.

The Australian opener was hit on his left foot during last Friday’s NatWest T20 Blast defeat to Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl.

He was ruled out of the ongoing Championship Division Two match against Glamorgan at Bristol and x-rays have confirmed he has a small crack on his middle toe.

Klinger said: "The toe is still very sore and the x-rays have shown up a small crack.

"The experts are taking a close look at it and we will know a lot more later. At the moment, it’s looking like it will be around three week.”
