Hampshire seamer James Tomlinson enjoyed a moment to remember against Gloucestershire in Division Two of the LV= County Championship - but it wasn't with the ball in his hand.
Hampshire's no 11 registered a maiden first-class 50 on a rain-hit second day at the Ageas Bowl, as he and David Balcombe - who made 65 not out - carried their last-wicket stand to 115.
Tomlinson finally fell for 51 but from 182-9 late on day one, having lost seven wickets for 38 in a middle-order collapse, Hampshire's tail managed to wag to get them up to 297 all out.
Not content with his batting heroics, Tomlinson then came out and claimed the one Gloucestershire wicket to fall before weather intervened, trapping opener Chris Dent lbw for 30.
William Tavare, who was unbeaten with 44 including eight fours, and Alex Gidman (11 not out) took the away county to 94-1 but only 32.2 overs of play were possible on Tuesday.
