All-rounder expected to sit out tour opener

Tim Bresnan has been rated as "unlikely" to feature in England's first tour match in the United Arab Emirates due to an elbow injury. The Yorkshire all-rounder, who underwent elbow surgery last month, suffered minor discomfort at net practice on Wednesday and the England medical team have announced that he is a major doubt to feature in Saturday's warm-up match against an ICC Affiliate and Associate XI . Bresnan did not train with his team-mates on Thursday and a team spokesman has urged caution over the 26-year-old's fitness as he prepares for three Tests, four one-day internationals and two Twenty20 fixtures against Pakistan. "He is unlikely to play in the first tour match," she said. "But there is no great concern about it at this stage."
