Chris Gayle will hold talks with the West Indies Cricket Board over a possible return to the team, according to Jamaica Cricket Association secretary Fritz Harris.
Harris says that Gayle will meet with the WICB and head coach Ottis Gibson, as well as a number of politicians, in a bid to end the dispute that has kept him out of the side for almost a year.
Gayle has not played for the West Indies since appearing in the World Cup quarter-finals on March 23 last year, being excluded after criticising the WICB and Gibson in a radio interview.
"A meeting has been arranged between Gayle, the WICB and a few heads of government in a bid to arrive at an amicable solution that could result in Gayle returning to the team," Harris told the Jamaica Gleaner.
The prime minister of St Vincent & the Grenadines, Dr Ralph Gonsalves, is also set to take part along with other Caribbean heads of state.
Former West Indies captain Gayle has played in a total of 91 Tests, 228 one-day internationals and 20 Twenty20 matches for the team.
