Australia A have lost the services of batsman Shaun Marsh for the tour match against England and are also waiting on the fitness of seam bowler Mitchell Starc.
Western Australia's Marsh has withdrawn from the four-day fixture in Hobart, which starts on Wednesday and is England's final warm-up before the start of the Ashes on November 25, after failing to recover from a back injury.
He has been replaced by Tasmania left-hander Ed Cowan.
New South Welshman Starc, meanwhile, seems unlikely to feature due to a side strain.
Cricket Australia have not officially ruled out the left-armer but confirmed Queensland's Ryan Harris as a "possible replacement".
Harris is in Hobart to allow medical staff to monitor his recovery from the knee problem that interrupted his fledgling Test career after the tour of New Zealand last March.
