England chairman Giles Clarke has hit out at the International Cricket Council after bad light caused a farcical end to the fifth Ashes Test.

Sky Sports Nasser Hussain defended the umpires who he said were just applying "the letter of the law". But he had sympathy for the crowd and added: "The crowd were booing at the end and it's fully understandable. We've had five days building up to an anti-climax. "Finish the game. This is what we are all here for. The ICC should have a common sense ruling. I know it's the laws of the game and be fair to both sides but have some kind of common sense. "Tell the captains if we get to the last half hour we are going to finish the game off. The lights were on. It's just not good enough."
