Sky Sports will show every ball as two cricketing heavyweights meet in three T20Is, five ODIs and four Test matches.

India and South Africa, semi-finalists at the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, begin proceedings with a T20 tussle in Dharamsala on Friday before similar encounters in Cuttack and Kolkata.

The games, which will act as important preparation for next spring's T20 World Cup in India, will be followed by five 50-over clashes and then Tests in Mohali, Bangalore, Nagpur and Delhi.

England, despite their impending commitments against Pakistan in the UAE, will no doubt have a close eye on the contests, with the side due to battle the Proteas over the winter.

South Africa have taken a strong set of players to the subcontinent - batsmen AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis are mainstays of all three squads, while seamers Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel will come steaming in for the Tests and one-dayers after sitting out the T20s.

The hosts will be captained in the limited-overs formats by MS Dhoni, before Virat Kohli - who, at 26, became the youngest Indian skipper to win a Test series abroad when his side bested Sri Lanka 2-1 in September - takes over in the five-day arena.
