South Africa are set to play their first Test at the Gabba in 49 years to open Australia's upcoming summer of international cricket.
Australia have two three-Test series scheduled this summer with the arrival of South Africa followed by the visit of Sri Lanka.
Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland is expecting plenty of closely fought contests.
"Over the last 12 to 24 months we've seen some young and exciting talent injected into the Australian men's team and those changes are starting to reap the rewards of the hard work led by Michael Clarke and Mickey Arthur," Sutherland said.
"The Australian men's team has a chance to test themselves early in the summer against a very strong South African side and the series is a great way to start the program.
"We're also fortunate to have Sri Lanka back again. They play a very entertaining and attacking style of cricket and as we saw last year have a passionate and vocal fan base around Australia."
Itinerary
Michael Clarke's side will host South Africa in Brisbane (starting November 9), Adelaide (Nov 22) and Perth (Nov 30).
The first Test against Sri Lanka will be held in Hobart (Dec 14), followed by the traditional matches in Melbourne (Dec 26) and Sydney (Jan 03).
Australia and Sri Lanka will follow their Test series with five one-day internationals (ODI) in 12 days starting at the MCG on January 11, before two Twenty20 internationals (T20I) on January 26 and 28.
Adelaide miss out on their traditional Australia Day of cricket, with the Twenty20 clash scheduled for January 26 against Sri Lanka at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.
Australia's summer of international cricket will finish with five more ODIs against the West Indies in the space of 10 days.
The first game of that ODI series is set for February 1, with the third to be played at Manuka Oval in Canberra five days later.
The 19th and final international match of the summer will be played on February 13, a T20I against the West Indies at the Gabba.
