Cricket Australia have reported that a window on the team bus was broken as it returned to the hotel on Monday in Chittagong, possibly by a rock or stone.

Nobody was injured and the second Test between the touring Aussies and Bangladesh got underway on Tuesday as planned.

It has been suggested that a small rock may have been thrown at the window, while Bangladesh police, who are investigating the incident, believe it may have been related to roadworks.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Iqbal Bahar said: "We think there was no major incident.

"The road went into renovation and a small piece of stone unexpectedly hit the window after coming under the security car."

He said an investigation team had been formed and the route for the Australian team had been changed.

The Australians are undertaking their first test tour to Bangladesh since 2006, after a previous tour was delayed because of security concerns.

Cricket Australia's security manager Sean Carroll said on Tuesday: "On route back to the hotel last night a window on the Australian team bus was broken. No one was injured in the incident.

"Team security personnel are currently in discussion with local authorities while they investigate the cause, which is believed to have come from a small rock or stone.

"Bangladesh authorities are taking the incident seriously and security has been increased on the route.

"To date we have been happy with security measures that have been in place and we are comfortable with the response from the Bangladesh authorities and the increased security presence we have been provided in light of the incident."

Bangladesh won the series-opening match in Dhaka last week by 20 runs, giving the country a first ever Test victory against Australia.
