Ashley Giles is the bookmakers' odds-on favourite to succeed Andy Flower as England's team director.
Kirsten is not the only foreign coach to be linked with the post, with Australian Tom Moody given a 14/1 chance after declaring his interest in the job on Monday.
Englishman Mick Newell, currently in charge at Nottinghamshire, is 7/1 third favourite, with former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming (12/1) ensuring three of the five front-runners are from overseas.
However, current one-day boss Giles has headed the betting since Flower announced he was standing down after five years at the helm.
Surprisingly, to date, Michael Vaughan has proved popular with punters despite his long odds of 33/1, with the former Yorkshire batsman attracting more bets than any other candidate.
