Broad, wearing a splint to protect his broken nose, played a full part in practice at the Oval, bowling and batting in the nets.

However, the fast bowler, whose nose was broken by a Varun Aaron bouncer during England's victory at Old Trafford last week, faced only spin deliveries and throw-downs.

Broad’s bowling looked unaffected as he worked up to full paced deliveries without any apparent discomfort.

England are still hopeful Broad will be fit to play when the Test begins on Friday. They currently lead the series 2-1.
