England Women's Sarah Taylor hit a century as South Australia beat New South Wales to the Women's National Cricket League title.

Taylor smashed 110 from 106 deliveries, reaching three figures from just 95 balls, as South Australia denied New South Wales an 11th consecutive crown at the Hurstville Oval in Sydney.

Taylor put on 181 for the second wicket with Brigitte Patterson (74) to fire her side to 264-7 from their 50 overs, with her England colleague, Laura Marsh, taking two wickets for New South Wales.

The reigning champions were bowled out for 210 in reply - Marsh dismissed for a golden duck - to lose by 54 runs as South Australia claimed their maiden Women's National Cricket League trophy.

Taylor, who made history in October by becoming the first woman to play in Australian first-grade cricket, will now turn out for Adelaide Strikers in the inaugural Women's Big Bash League.
