Gary Anderson bounced back from a final defeat to Steve Beaton on Saturday by winning his 20th Players Championship title in Wigan 24 hours later.

World number two Anderson overcame Ian White 6-1 in Sunday's showdown, having fallen 6-3 to Beaton in the weekend's opening final.

Anderson dominated White from the off, narrowly missing out on a 170 finish in the first leg before achieving a break of throw in the second with an 84 checkout.

White could only take the fourth leg against two-time world champion Anderson, with the Scot closing out victory with double tops to win his third Players Championship of 2017.

"These tournaments are hard work, so it's really good to get the win," said Anderson, as quoted on pdc.tv. "Steve was fantastic yesterday and it was my turn today.

"I love it when the old boys stand up and show everyone what we can do. We are still doing the business and the young guys aren't quite there yet."

Earlier on Sunday, Anderson edged past Mickey Mansell 6-5 before beating Harry Robinson 6-4.
