Lewis had needed a final leg decider against Ronny Huybrechts earlier on Saturday but had no problems in seeing off the Dutchman in their fifth round clash.
Lewis won the game's first three legs without reply before van Barneveld hit back in the fourth, but the double world champion took full control by reeling off five more legs in succession, a run which included a stunning 154 finish.
"I had to get into Raymond straight away and I did that. I kept the pressure on him and did a good job today, and hopefully I can go all the way now on Sunday," Lewis said.
Reigning world champion Michael van Gerwen also had a relatively straightforward route to the last eight, beating Andy Hamilton 9-5 and Mark Webster 9-4 on Saturday.
Van Gerwen did trail 2-0 early in his fifth round encounter with Webster but was soon in command as he pulled away to win while posting an average of 100 at the Butlins Minehead Resort.
The Dutchman said: "Mark started well but I came back really strongly and I was pleased with that. I know I'm in form and I'm hitting the right darts when I need to. I've never won this tournament before so that's a big aim for me on Sunday."
Van Gerwen will face Ian White in the last eight while Lewis will play surprise package Mensur Suljovic, who defeated both Robert Thornton and Jamie Lewis on Saturday.
Terry Jenkins edged out two-time champion James Wade 9-8 and will next face Brendan Dolan, who ended the run of giant killer Aden Kirk after the 22-year-old had claimed the scalps of Phil Taylor and Peter Wright earlier in the tournament.
The final quarter-final will see Kevin Painter play Mervyn King.
