Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright reached the World Matchplay semi-finals on another dramatic night in Blackpool.
'Mighty Mike' was forced to work for a thrilling win over Ian White as he fought back from a 6-1 deficit to secure a 16-13 victory at the Winter Gardens.
During a blistering performance, Van Gerwen fell short in his attempt at a nine-darter, while White can take plenty of pride from his spirited display on the big stage.
Wright had earlier handed out a finishing lesson in his impressive 16-7 win over Gerwyn Price in the other quarter-final.
'Snakebite' snatched a succession of legs, holding a 100 per cent success rate at the double in the early stages, and produced a 10-dart leg on the way to victory.
