Ricky Hatton takes you behind the scenes in the build-up to the biggest fight of his life against Floyd Mayweather with his skysports.com diary. The Hitman will be lifting the lid on life inside the gym and around Team Hatton for the next fortnight, starting in Manchester and finishing in Las Vegas days before Undefeated...
Wednesday was my last day of sparring.
I've got to say the two American lads supplied by Goldenboy have been very good and I have felt myself getting better and better as the rounds have gone by.
After finishing another decent gym session I thought I'd pop out and buy myself a new hat.
That done, we went down to old Las Vegas to check the light show on Fremont Street.
This is where all the old casinos started out but they have spent a lot of money doing the place up and it now has a really nice feel about it.
Next up we had to nip off and do some photographs for the press to promoted the fight.
I've been here nearly a week now and I've got to say, time flies by very quickly.
It won't be long now...

I will be in Vegas to support you Ricky. We are all proud of you because you are a working class hero who doesn't forget his roots & is a true champion!!! In the modern day where sportsmen think money means everything you are a breath of fresh air for English sport! Your opponent is quite the opposite, in many ways he is an example of the bad things in life & to me thats what makes this fight so unique and exciting. Good Luck the HITMAN!!!!!

From a scot to an english man you can do it with your passion. bring back with you the belts and your dreams. forget the USA Media this is your time, dont get home sick just focus PS... My advice massive straight right after an uppercut as he is backing away, he always gets caught with that one. good luck and have a pint at the NY NY Irish bar after you win.

I've been a fan of Ricky for years, as I have been for Mayweather. I think the result is simple. Mayweather coming down in weight, Hatton moving up in weight. Floyd will have too much speed, dare I say it too much power, for Ricky and I say that with a heavy heart. The closer the fight has got the more I've started to believe in the Ricky hype. With everyone forgetting, Mayweather isn't just going let Hatton come onto him for 12 rounds. He's a Superfit counter puncher who took Oscar's best body punches at light middleweight, so I'm fairly sure he takes Hatton's body punches, thats even if he gets to him. We've all seen Mayweather stand and beat the head off Gatti, who was all action, granted less ability then Hatton. Yes, with a week to go, and with the 24/7 series comng to a close I've decided to forget about all the bandwagon, and the 'Experts' opinions and lay my cards on the table. It'll be Floyd late, and everything points to it, and you'll be saying that after the fight. But no matter what, Ricky is, regardless of this fight Top 5 Pound for Pound, and Pound for Pound number one, when it comes to be a man.

I'm another Aussie right behind you Ricky. If you were good enough to beat Tszyu, your good enough for all Aussies to get behind you. A KO would be nice, but if that doesn't happen, in the very least, please make Floyd look damn ugly. Go Champ!

Ricky this is your moment. Mayweather has superb technique, skill and speed. But you can and will beat him with whatever it takes with Billy Graham in your corner. All of Britain and boxing fans around the world are rooting for you. Be strong and be smart and MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU.

I see this fight going the same way Hamed vs Barrera. I reckon Ricky Hatton will be rearanging Mayweathers kidneys by round 9,and i cant see Mayweather having enough time to put them back where they should be and i think his corner will pull him out the fight at some stage. My moneys on Hatton the most exciting fighter since Nigel Benn to come from these shores. Also when Ricky does this and if our paths cross im going to buy him a Pie and a pint because he deserves it.,

Come on Ricky!!! Im more excited about this bout then any other fight in history! Ricky you have the skills in your locker to smash this big talking yank back into the dancing arena! He has never fought somebody whos body punches are as tough as yours as you have proved over and over again. This will shut up most of the so called American Boxing "experts" and get you closer to Rockys unbeaten record I so want you to own! COME ON THE HITMAN!!!!!

Ricky-stay focused on your job, as i am sure you are. i,m sure you are the fitter and stronger fighter and will not lose any negative energy getting involved with the micky mouse comments from Mayweather's camp about their boxer's suspect hands. Ricky- this is the fight you have worked and trained for all your life. all of manchester is behind you, all the UK and all supporters of a genuine ,funny down to earth family man Good Luck. Mate

Come on Ricky. I think if Hatton is going to beat Mayweather, he'll need to do it before the later rounds. I'm confident that Hatton can win but I'm less confident on points.

Come on Ricky. Knock the yank on his back side. Typical american, all mouth, we are number one etc etc. We hear it whatever sport they compete in. We all hope you shut him up once and for all, the whole country is behind you, do England proud.

This is Ricky's moment. His approach must be getting under Mayweathers skin now, laughing off Floyds not so wise words of wisdom and adding a few far more witty retorts himself. He looks in great shape and looks sharpe and fit enough to win late on in Vegas. All the best fella, the whole of the UK (and America) is behind the hitman!

I honestly think, and hope Floyd knocks the hell out of Ricky Hatton and shows him that he shouldn't be setting his sights as high as that, because Floyd Mayweather is the greatest ever. Come on Floyd! Floyd stays fit 24/7, and doesn't blow himself up like a balloon as Hatton does between fights. That's a little unprofessional as far as I'm concerned, so I hope Floyd puts the fat man in his place!
