Felipe Massa clips the wall at Sainte Devote in Practice session one at the Monaco GP

Felipe Massa's Monaco GP weekend began in dramatic fashion when he crashed into the Ste Devote barriers during Practice One.

Three years after the Brazilian crashed at Monaco's famous first corner twice in the same weekend, the Williams driver was in the wars there again.

Less than 30 minutes into P1, Massa slid wide under braking for the tight right-hander, with the back end of his FW38 swinging round and hitting the tyre barrier. The car sustained damage to its left-rear wheel and suspension.

Massa, a polesitter at Monte Carlo in 2008, completed only 10 laps in the session and finished down in 19th place.
