Lewis Hamilton, the fastest driver in Austin, took Usain Bolt, the fastest man over 100m, for a spin round the Circuit of the Americas

Formula 1's American owners pulled out all the stops when it came to hosting the United States GP on Sunday, with Lewis Hamilton driving Usain Bolt around the track just one of the pre-race activities.

As part of the glitz and glamour ahead of Liberty Media's first stateside race, the 2017 championship leader took the now-retired sprint king Bolt for a spin at the Circuit of the Americas.

And even though Bolt is the fastest man in history - even he thought Hamilton was too quick!

"I wasn't ready for that," said the eight-time Olympic gold medallist. "That was a fun point the rest of us was a little bit scary. I was screaming a little bit."

Hamilton, who can claim a fourth world title in Austin if results go his way, added: "It was so good. I pushed the car to the max because I wanted to scare him to death.

"He talks about being the fastest dude in the world but I can still make him scared a little bit."
