The former Ferrari and Mercedes driver remains in an induced coma at Grenoble Hospital after suffering a 'severe head trauma' during last Sunday's accident.
On Monday, the medical team treating the German released a brief update which confirmed Schumacher's condition continued to be "considered as stable" but again stressed that he remained "critical".
Despite the brevity and precision of the briefing, it nevertheless prompted another bout of speculation about the extent of Schumacher's recovery, with elements of the German press suggesting that the 45-year-old was out of danger.
However, in a statement released late on Monday night, Sabine Kehm, Schumacher's long-time spokesperson and manager declared: "I can confirm Michael's condition can be considered stable. I can't confirm to have stated his life is out of danger".
Meanwhile, French prosecutors investigating the skiing accident confirmed on Monday that they will hold a press conference in the Alpine town of Albertville on Wednesday at 10am (GMT) to provide an update into their findings into the incident.
