World Champion says pair work well together at Red Bull

Sebastian Vettel has endorsed Mark Webber's bid to earn a contract extension at Red Bull - despite admitting that he is not close to his Australian team-mate. Although Vettel and Webber have driven the Milton Keynes outfit to successive Constructors' Championships, speculation is mounting that the Aussie will leave the team at the end of the season - possibly for Ferrari, with rumours rife that Webber will be given a one-year contract before Vettel also swaps Red Bull for motorsport's most famous red car. However, despite acknowledging a lack of friendship away from the track, Vettel is adamant that Webber's value to the team should not be underestimated. "I can understand why people are thinking that there is a problem between Mark and myself," F1's reigning champion told Autosport. "Yes, we might not be best friends, but I have no problem with him and he has no problem with me. "We work well together and we are both trying to pull the team in the same direction. We have a similar view for the car, it's not as if one likes the set-up in the opposite way to the other. "I think that is helping us, and so far it is working quite well. I'm not sure of his contract, but at the moment I think he is doing a very good job."
