As the F1 world gears up for the opening test of the winter, the schedule for the long-anticipated first four days of track action with the all-new turbo-powered cars continues to take shape with at least five teams now having officially confirmed their attendance.
Although Williams did test at Jerez last year, the Grove-based team brought their old 2012 car to the four days of running before introducing their new model at the following session in Barcelona.
However, with this year's challengers bearing little resemblance to last year's, Williams are set to revert to a more traditional programme and kick off testing with their FW36. Indeed, the team revealed on Monday that they had commenced the build of the first chassis.
Despite winter-long speculation that some teams could sit out the first week of running owing to the tight build timeframes involved in being ready for Jerez, Lotus are so far the only team to confirm their non-attendance.
McLaren, Mercedes and Caterham have already made public their plans to test at Jerez while Marussia confirmed to Sky Sports Online over the weekend that they are also on course to roll out their new car in southern Spain.
2014 car launch schedule
