The Mexican joined the Woking-based team from Sauber this season, but has been outshone by team-mate Jenson Button - scoring less than half the points of the 2009 World Champion in the first 12 rounds of the championship.
However, despite a difficult first year with the team, the Mexican says contract negotiations have been concluded and the paper work is now being completed.
"Yeah, everything is pretty much done," Perez said in the FIA Press Conference ahead of the Singapore GP. "But the right thing to do is to ask Martin [Whitmarsh] about it.
"We have been having some discussions about the contract which is now done and we are just finalising the final docs, but I cannot give much detail about them."
McLaren are a team used to fighting for world titles, but 2013 has been somewhat of a disappointment and they find themselves battling with Force India for fifth in the standings. However, that is still a contest that Perez is determined to win.
"Of course, it is not a secret that we haven't had the year that we were hoping to have," he added.
"Definitely we must try to finish as high as possible in the next seven races and maximise the full potential. At Monza we should have got more points than we did, so I think definitely we get all the points that we can. If in the end we beat Force India, then that is good for us.
