Team can't run after MR01 failed the last of FIA's 18 crash tests

Timo Glock admits he is disappointed Marussia won't run their 2012 car before the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. The 'MR01' failed the last of its 18 FIA observed crash tests, meaning they are not allowed to use it during testing with the rest of the teams at the Circuit de Catalunya this week. In previous seasons teams had been able to take part in testing without having passed the mandatory crash tests. The failure to meet the FIA requirements means that the first chance Glock and rookie team-mate Charles Pic will have to get mileage in their new car will be during free practice one at Albert Park. "Of course it is a shame that we can't test in Barcelona ... (But) safety comes first," Glock told German press agency dpa. "We will be competing with our new car in Melbourne."
