Speculation has been rife as to who will be Sebastian Vettel's next team-mate following Mark Webber's decision to retire from F1 at the end of the current season.
Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner has all but confirmed either Ricciardo or Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen will be chosen but says a final decision is still to be made.
Speaking ahead of first practice for this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, Ricciardo told Sky Sports News he was simply focusing on his current role with Red Bull's junior partner.
"I'm happy still where I am and with half a season left so I've got plenty on my plate," he said. "I'm busy and occupied enough to be happy with what I'm doing."
Ricciardo drove the Red Bull at Silverstone Young Drivers Test earlier this month and said he enjoyed the experience.
"Yeah it was good," he added. "Ideally I would have liked to do more with the set-up and with the engineers and push the boundaries a bit more but that was quite unique with the guidelines from Pirelli and the FIA, but it was good fun.
"I think I did all I could. I thought I got down to the times quite quickly and found the limit a bit more.
"I think the feedback from everyone was ok, so if I had to do it again I probably wouldn't change anything."
