Team to run all-Spanish pairing on Friday at Barcelona

HRT have announced that Dani Clos will replace Narain Karthikeyan during Practice One for the Spanish GP at Barcelona on Friday. In what the team are declaring to be 'history in the making', Clos' pairing with Pedro de la Rosa will mark the first time that 'two Spanish drivers will have hit the track as part of a Spanish team at the Spanish Grand Prix.' Although Clos is yet to drive the F112, he drove for the team at the Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi last November and was appointed HRT's test driver in February. "I'm delighted to have this opportunity," the 23-year-old enthused about his appointment. "It's something I've fought for all my life; to make my debut in Formula 1 and, above all, to be able to do it at the Circuit de Catalunya which is something very special for me. Besides, I'm extremely lucky to be able to do it with a Spanish team, alongside another Spanish driver who I admire and at home. I can't ask for more!" HRT, meanwhile, have confirmed that they will be running 'a series of aerodynamic upgrades' this weekend despite missing the recent Mugello test in order to focus on their relocation to a new base in Madrid. Karthikeyan will return to the car for Practice Two and beyond.
