Coventry City were held to a 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace on Saturday. A goal from Ambrose meant the Sky Blues went in 1-0 down at half time in what was a pretty mediocre first-half performance.

Best hit back in the beginning of the second half heading in his eighth goal of the season after a great cross from McIndoe. The guys came out at half time with a great fighting attitude and we looked as though we would eventually snatch the winner. However, it was not meant to be and the game finished a draw.

Coventry really deserved all three points with their promising second-half attitude, something that has not always been our strong point. In front of a more pleasing 17,000-plus home fans, the lads fought to try and win the game throughout the second half and didn't just leave it to the last 10 minutes to push for goal.

Earlier in the week Coleman finally landed his long-admired target Richard Wood from Sheffield Wednesday. The centre back has been signed on loan until January with a view to taking up a permanent contract with the Sky Blues in the new year transfer window. Wood looked very good in his debut and despite the defence having no time to gel, Wood and fellow new loanee Barnett did very well together.

I never thought we would sign Wood and I am impressed that the club is able to give players the incentive to move to Coventry despite the fact that on the surface it doesn't appear we have anything more to offer than most clubs in this division.

The fact that players are willing to buy into what Coleman and Ranson are trying to achieve here is great. I just hope that this stems also to Best, who is still yet to sign a new contract.

Dosh

I would like Best to stay as I don't feel we have got enough dosh to replace him with a striker who is really going to make a difference to our season. If Best hasn't signed before January, though, I do think they need to let him go to ensure they get some cash back that they can reinvest with.

Westwood back from his back injury yet again pulled off some great saves to keep Palace from stealing the game. I was also pleased for McIndoe, who appears to have settled in and is now starting to show some of what he is capable of. I don't think we have seen the best of him yet but he gave it his all from start to finish and it is great to see someone so desperate for the ball.

As a result of Saturday, the Sky Blues are now 18th in the table, nine points from the top six but only three points from the relegation zone which is fairly worrying but highlights that we need to get behind the team, the manager and the board.

Certain fan writers are at it again complaining that we are not good enough, expecting miracles and making sure that anyone who listens to them will stay away from games. Well done. I'm not quite sure how someone who can claim to be such a huge fan just rubbishes everything about the team.

It's about time certain people realised that Coleman and Ranson aren't stupid and there will always be things going on behind the scenes that they can't and won't tell us about.

Coleman and Ranson probably aren't going anywhere and the fate of the club is out of our hands so let C.C and R.R get on with their job and lets all put our energy into backing the lads.

Talking about a 'Coleman out campaign' is ridiculous and makes me feel like starting my own 'Cox be quiet campaign'. We can't change what is going to happen this season but we can make it easier for everyone all round if we keep the faith and cheer on the team. PUSB the majority of us are behind you.
