Over the moonwalk

Savage: back soon

Bas Savage is on the comeback trail. It'll be like a new signing when we get him back. He has played twice now for the reserves and had a starring role on Soccer AM on Saturday morning! We can rest easy that he can still moonwalk! I hope to see it very soon Bas!

Tranmere have enjoyed a good week. Home victory against Yeovil followed by a good point away at Charlton is a good return for a side struggling near the bottom of the table.

I'd have ripped your hand off if you had offered me a point before the game at The Valley. Yet come the end, I was a bit disappointed that we didn't take all three as we had chances to do so but didn't take them.

It just goes to show the progress we have made with a physio in charge. I'm considering doing a physiotherapy degree and see if that gets me a manager's job in the Football League!

Les Parry is doing a great job, and long may it continue. He's one of football's good guys and deserves all the credit I'm giving him.

Transfer deadline day is normally a dull event for us Tranmere fans. It usually comes and goes with no activity at Prenton Park, but on this occasion, Les has moved to bring in a young striker from Watford by the name of Marvin Sordell.

He scored a nice little goal for the Hornets against Leeds in the Carling Cup earlier in the season, so let's see what he can do in the super white shirt. A big welcome to big Marvin!

Starring

It's a big, big seven days for Rovers coming up. Home to Oldham and away at Gillingham are true 'six-pointers'. If we could manage to get a couple of wins, it would drag both of those sides deeper into the mire and more importantly help us out of the bottom four.

To think there was once a time when we challenged towards the top of the league! It's seems an eternity ago! Thankfully Les has Tranmere upwardly mobile and we can only hope that we can continue to move in a northerly direction until May and remain in League One.

If you're at a loose end on Saturday and are in the Birkenhead area, please get down to Prenton Park. Your support will be greatly appreciated, by the club and by me. Let's create a big Prenton Park atmosphere to help the lads get some vital points.
