Woods: problems up front
I'm about to go out and buy a black Christmas tree and some white baubles to see if it can bring the Mariners a bit of luck around this festive period.

Quotes of the week
It's taken a while to get round to writing this blog. After a weekend of travelling up and down the country I'm finally home celebrating handing in my Uni work, which included half of my dissertation, which is naturally on Grimsby Town FC.
The question is: 'Why do fans choose to support teams that they have no local connection with?' For example the armchair Premier League fans compared with the crazy people who go home and away to watch Grimsby Town in what is often a relegation battle.
Feel free to send me some thoughts on this subject to: Hannahcawsey@hotmail.co.uk. I know it's a subject that is on the mind of a lot of the lower-league fans.
So we're talking about the point at Shrewsbury, still not managing three points but a draw is good enough for me, however, after dominating the match and missing key chances Grimsby Town find themselves in the usual boat of playing well but unable to score. Hopefully with a bit of time and patience something will click.
I hope so, because my blogs are becoming all too predictable I would like to be able to write things such as 'Mariners net three points', but I'm having to keep writing about boring draws that are usually down to us not being able to find the back of the net.
In fact it's becoming so bad a close friend and fellow Mariner, Mikey wanted to give me inspiration for my blog this week. I asked him what I should write and his response was: 'Hi, I'm tired, Town drew, slag players off, mention Jon, mention wine, the end'. Nice to know your friends are so supportive, huh? Think I'll scratch him from my Christmas card list.
I'm about to go out and buy a black Christmas tree and some white baubles to see if it can bring the Mariners a bit of luck around this festive period. The exciting life and times of Hannah Cawsey - no wine tonight you'll be surprised to know, I'm on a break before Christmas. Hopefully Town won't force me to drown my sorrows on Friday night.
Hope you enjoyed the blog Mikey, Up the Mariners!
