League One lottery

The Premier League title maybe on the line this weekend, but League One is where the real make-or-break drama lies.

No fewer than FIVE clubs can make it into second spot behind Norwich and automatic promotion on the most nerve-wracking of final days.

Leeds, so long in pole position, know if they win they are up. But should they fail to beat Bristol Rovers at home, then Millwall and Swindon - who face each other at the New Dean - and Charlton can all go up with a win.

And if they can somehow find a five-goal turnaround even sixth-placed Huddersfield can sneak into that all-important spot.

It is a huge day for all those clubs and their fans, so we asked four of FanZoner bloggers faced with jubilation or commiseration to give us their final thoughts as we approach what can only be described as a time for the squeakiest of bums...

"All that Leeds United have to do is to defeat a Bristol Rovers team with nothing to play for and all the forward momentum of a Skoda with one wheel. It sounds simple, particularly when you remember the 4-0 battering we dished out last time we met. But something about Leeds United occasionally brings superhuman performances from modest opposition."

"Ok, so it looks like it's going to be the play-offs. I have to confess however average Leeds are they surely won't slip up at home to Bristol Rovers. With that in mind it's time to start planning for the extra expense and inevitable heartbreak that comes with a Millwall play-off campaign."

"I like to think that Leeds have a great sense of theatre and are just working their way up to promotion, something they always planned on achieving on the last day of the season. This would betray their new found sense of suspense however, as it would render the other results irrelevant."

"In one of those weird football twists of fate former Charlton hero, Lennie Lawrence, who is Director of Football down at Bristol Rovers, could have a big influence on whether the Addicks get a chance to sneak in via the back door. While I accept it is very slim possibility and Charlton fans are looking forward to the play-offs anyway, a win away at Oldham and some old magic from Sir Lennie could just mean we might not need to bother.
