Griezmann was a doubt after suffering a foot injury in France's 2-1 win over Sweden last Friday but has shown no signs of discomfort during training this week and Zidane said he was "happy" to hear the latest news on his compatriot.

"For me, it is good to be ready to play tomorrow," he said at his press conference on Friday.

"I'll never wish that a player is injured on the opposing team. He is simply an important player for Atletico and I'm happy for him.

"It is true that we have to be very careful against Griezmann, but not only him. Atletico is a team that gets better every year, they are always improving. They have a very good coach (Diego Simeone) who has changed a lot since he arrived and is doing great. People say that all Atletico does is defend well."

"It is not a test for me," Zidane added.

"It is one more league match, it's a 50-50 game. We have to go and play until the end. It will be a tough game, but we're used to tough games.

"I remember the defeat (at the Bernabeu last season). It always hurts, but I'm not thinking about that game. I'm thinking about tomorrow and we will try to do the best to win."

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague looks ahead to this weekend's Madrid derby between Real and Atletico.

Zidane also confirmed that his own French forward, Karim Benzema, is set to play in this weekend's crunch clash.

Benzema had been struggling with a hip problem picked up during Real's draw at Legia Warsaw earlier in the month but has trained with the squad and could start. But the visitors will be without Toni Kroos (foot), Alvaro Morata (hamstring) and Casemiro (leg).
