The referee blows his whistle to signal the end of the match. An extremely dominant victory for AC Milan who were good value for the result. Arsenal on the other hand were woeful and this tie looks very much over before the second-leg at the Emirates.
Pato is left in space as Milan counter. He hits a powerful shot at Szczesny, who parries it high into the air before catching it.
Arsenal attempt what looks to be their last attack but Abbiati comes out to claim the cross from the left.
Pato with a nice touch finds Emanuelson who comes inside to have a blast on goal, but it goes wide. Ambrosini was in space to pass to there.
Ibrahimovic brings down the high ball with a great touch on the left wing and knocks it back as Milan keep possession.
Milan now happy to keep the ball. They do create a chance, however, as Van Bommel looks to find Pato in the box, but Djourou does enough to see the ball out for a goal kick.
Milan have a free-kick in the middle of the park. Pato is found in the area and takes a nice touch before he is called offside.
Vermaelen runs to the byline and chips in a good cross in the direction of Van Persie, but Thiago Silva heads away. The defender follows that up by earning his side a goal kick.
Arsenal have two corners following the save but are unable to get an attempt away on either occassion.
So close for Arsenal as Van Persie heads Chamberlain's cross from the right towards the bottom right corner, but Abbiati won't be beaten.
Sagna crosses from the right and the ball falls to Rosicky, who has a very poor effort on goal. The fact Milan have a throw-in indicated quite how poor.
Henry breaks through to collect a long ball and holds it up well to allow some number to get into Milan's half.
Arsenal have a penalty shout of their own as Van Persie goes down under the presence of Mexes, but the referee dismisses the claim. Mexes' hands were definitely on the captain but it would have been soft.
Ibrahimovic strokes his penalty into the bottom left corner. Szczesny guesses the right way but is unable to stop the ball passing him. Ibrahimovic deserves his goal for his overall performance this evening.
Abate now forward for Milan on the left. He hits a good cross searching for Ibrahimovic but it is Sagna who gets a touch to knock it behind for a corner.
Rosicky finds Vermailen on the left. The central defender's cross ends up falling to Van Persie who fires his shot on target but straight at Abbiati.
Chamberlain does well to get his cross in on the left. It is cleared back and he races to claim it again but is called offside.
Nice couple of touches from Chamberlain to free up some space on the left for Arsenal who need to keep the ball.
Milan look very organised at the back but Henry is able to put in a good inswinging cross. Thiago Silva clears.
Milan have a chance to threaten with a corner, but they will make a change first. Boateng, who has enjoyed a very good game, is replaced by Ambrosini. Milan looking to settle on their 3-0 lead and will place priority on not conceding an away goal now.
Arsenal keeping possession in Milan's half but Ramsey's floated ball towards the right wing is very much misplaced. Wasted use of the ball there.
Chamberlain comes on for Gibbs, an attacking change for Arsenal who are starting to look a little better.
Arsenal have a throw-in on the left. Song finds Henry on the endge of the area who flicks the ball beautifully into the path of Van Persie. The skipper volleys it well but Abbiati is equal to it and touches it wide of his left post.
Van Persie delivers the corner and finds the head of Ramsey, who is unable to get over it and it travels off target.
Vermaelen looks to fire it towards goal but it clips the wall and Abbiati can gather the ball with ease.
Mexes is booked for blatently fouling Rosicky as Arsenal were looking to threaten. They have a free-kick in a promising position.
Abate lays it off to Robinho on the left flank, who goes past Gibbs easily to come inside. He remains unchallenged until he goes to have a shot but it is blocked and Arsenal get away with that.
The hosts counter with purpose and Antonini is found in plenty of space to have a shot on the left edge of the area but he scuffs it and Szczesny is happy to see it go wide.
It looked like the ball had been lost for Arsenal, but Gibbs presses Abate well to force a corner. Arteta's corner is punched away by Abbiati and Milan are able to counter.
Djourou brings the ball forward from defence and is fouled by Ibrahimovic, allowing Arsenal to perhaps create something here.
Lovely move by Milan and Boateng may have been through on goal if he had controlled the ball better on the left side of the box. Arsenal sprint forward with Arteta but he goes down too easily and is not given a free-kick as Milan regain possession.
Arsenal looking to attack again, Gibbs and Song exchanging passes, but the latter's cross fails to get past Mexes.
Rosicky looks to loft the ball into the box for Van Persie but the Arsenal captain is unable to reach it and Abbiati collects it easily.
Attack breaks down and Arsenal come forward on the left. Gibbs' attempted cross is blocked for a throw.
Robinho recieves the ball from Ibrahimovic and finds himself in a bit of space outside the area after Vermaelen slips. He unleashed a fantastic strike to Szczesny's bottom left corner to put the hosts 3-0 up.
Arsenal with possession looking to instigate an attack but Rosicky loses it in the middle of the park and Milan stride into Arsenal's half.
Lovely skill by Robinho who passes to Ibrahimovic. The Swedish striker then crosses from the left but Arsenal clear.
Rosicky comes forward but is unable to find Henry on the edge of the area. Has happened a lot for Rosicky tonight.
The second half gets underway at the San Siro. Henry has come on for Walcott as Arsene Wenger looks to change things up.

The first half ends and Arsenal will need to improve drastically in the second half if they are to come away from this match with any chance of redemption at the Emirates in the second leg.
Antonini charges down the ball with Szczesny coming to claim it. They both clash and Antonini is hurt but was good goalkeeping by the Arsenal man.
Boateng looks to score a similar goal to his opener as he blasts the ball at Szczesny's goal but this time it flies just over.
Milan looking comfortable as Robinho tries a chipped ball through Arsenal's defence to Emanuelson but it lacks direction to hand Arsenal possession.
Milan now attacking on the right, Boateng delivers a great cross which Ibrahimovic gets down to head but he is unable to connect and Arsenal scramble it clear.
Milan are defending with great organisation and attacking with confidence as Arsenal again can't get the ball forward and Sagna passes it back to Szczesny.
Robinho scores a well placed header from six yards after a good run and chipped cross from the left byline by Ibrahimovic. Arsenal are in big trouble at the moment.
Arsenal look to have comfortable possession in Milan's half but Rosicky's loose ball can only find Abate who brings Milan forward.
Walcott enters Milan's half and plays it to Song but Arsenal again can't seem to string more than three passes together.
Abete's cross is headed away by Song but Arsenal can't get the ball properly clear and Nocerino looks to score an ambitious effort on the volley from a cross from the left but it doesn't trouble the target.
No doubt that Milan are in control of this match so far, and will perhaps feel like they should have created more in this first half-hour as Arsenal have been very shaky in their own half.
A mistake by Koscielny almost leads to Ibrahimovic being through on goal again but the Swede is called offside once more.
Milan looking to get the ball into the box and Koscielny has made two headed clearances to prevent the home side having an effort on goal.
Arsenal can't create a chance from the corner and are forced to go right back to defence in order to free up some space.
Arsenal coming forward with Rosicky who's through ball initially intended for Ramsey almost finds Van Persie but Thiago Silva clears behind for a corner taking no chances.
Walcott wins a throw on the right in his own half to relieve some pressure from Arsenal who have looked vulnerable so far against a vibrant AC Milan attack.
Perhaps a chance now for Arsenal who have a centred free-kick from distance. Van Perise looks to find Koscielny but Abbiati comes off his line to claim the ball.
Misunderstanding between Vermaelen and Szczesny almost lets Ibrahimovic in but the keeper does just enough to draw a foul from the oncoming striker.
Van Perise looking to get hold of the ball on the left. He plays it back to Sagna but Antonini does well to win a throw-in of the right back.
Nocerino goes close to doubling Milan's lead. Robinho switches the ball to him from the left and he hits the ball with great pace but it blazes just over.
Rosicky delivers a great looking ball to set Van Persie off on the left side of the box but the Milan defenders are on to him straight away to gain possession and get the ball clear.
Great finish from Boateng who chests Nocerino's ball down on the right side of the box and fires a half-volley into the back of the net. It clips the underside of the crossbar before going in. Great start for Milan.
Milan threatening again as Boateng and Emanuelson combine well on the right but Arsenal just about clear their lines.
Nice move from Milan. Boateng's cross is flicked on well by Ibrahimovic into the path of Emanuelson but he fires wide.
Arsenal have a bit of possession in Milan's half but Sagna sells Ramsey short and he ends up fouling Van Bommel on the right wing.
Gibbs was unable to make the most of the counter attack and Milan are allowed to get their man back to defend.
The corner results in an attacking throw on the right. Robinho wins Milan a second corner in quick succession.
Milan go forward on the counter and Seedorf finds himself in a bit of space on the right edge of the box to have a shot but it hits the side-netting.
Walcott runs at the Milan defence but his through ball to Van Persie is misjudged and goes out of play.
Milan have a throw on the right wing but lose the ball and then concede a free-kick, Nocerino fouling Arteta.
Arsenal have the ball properly for the first time now and Rosicky skips past Van Bommel to have the game's first shot but it flies harmlessly wide.
The home side go straight forward with Robinho on the left flank but the move breaks down as Seedorf is called offside.

Thierry Henry is on the bench for the final game of his loan spell at Arsenal. The former Gunners skipper, who netted a stoppage-time winner in the Barclays Premier League at Sunderland on Saturday, will return to New York Red Bulls tomorrow. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also among the substitutes, as Thomas Vermaelen and Laurent Koscielny pair up in central defence, with Per Mertesacker out because of an ankle injury. Aaron Ramsey comes into midfield, with Theo Walcott offering support to captain Robin van Persie in attack. Serie A leaders AC Milan have experienced Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic available despite his domestic ban, and he partners former Manchester City frontman Robinho in attack. Fit again Alessandro Nesta and Pato are among the substitutes.
