Arsenal 5 Benfica 1. Perfect afternoon for the hosts as they put in a commanding performance in front of their own supporters and give Alexis Sanchez his Emirates debut.
Woodwork struck again. Another great move by Arsenal. Coquelin the unfortunate man as his low effort bounces back off the base of the post. Arsenal looking to finish with a flourish.
Wilshere can't combine with Sanchez, but soon wins the ball back. He takes a hefty challenge and hobbles away. Looks to be okay. The last thing he needs is another spell on the sidelines.
Cazorla delivers. Miquel rises highest in the middle and sees a looping header, which leaves Artur rooted to the spot, cannon back off the crossbar.
Pereira facing his own goal and having his pocket picked by Sanchez. Wilshere then gets involved, before Sanchez darts into the box and forces a corner.
Martinez hammers down field as the ball is sent back his way. Arsenal won't want to concede any more. They have completely controlled this contest.
Candeias felled by Arteta. Free-kick to Benfica wide on their left, 30 yards out. Bebe interested again. Martinez moving his wall. Another dipping effort sent in, which this time hits the side-netting.
Gaitan trudging off to be replaced by Cancelo. Lima making way for Derley and Texeira sent on in place of Amorim.
Reckless challenge by Benito and he is rightly cautioned. He slid in from a long way out to prevent Akpom from racing away down the right.
Gibbs calmly back to Martinez as Gaitan threatens again. He has been the only spark for Benfica. They arrived with a big reputation, as Treble winners, but have really disappointed.
Wilshere racing about trying to get on the ball. Only succeeds in conceding a free-kick. Wenger now rooted to his seat. He will be a happy man. Will also be demanding more of the same against Monaco tomorrow.
Bebe involved on the right now. He finds Pereira, who can drift inside. He lets fly with his left foot from 20 yards out. Ball strikes the outside of the post, with Martinez pulling his hands away.
Free-kick to Benfica 35 yards from goal. Bebe interested in it. Great effort which forces Martinez to touch over the top. Ronaldo-esque drive which dipped late.
Almeida on the deck after being caught by Sanchez. Free-kick taken square. Pereira then moving down the right again. Miquel spots the danger and rolls out for a throw. Pereira goes long into Bebe. He finds Gaitan, who sees a low shot saved.
Sanchez springing the offside trap. He is able to prod over a cross from the left, but fails to find a red shirt. Every touch being cheered. He has the home support on their feet every time he takes possession. Just the kind of the player the locals want in their side.
Free-flowing move again by Arsenal. Wilshere sweeps into the path of Cazorla 25 yards out. He looks to bend the ball into the bottom corner, but doesn't get enough on his low shot.
Chambers does well again to see the ball behind for a goal kick. He has looked very composed. Versatility will come in useful for Arsenal this season. Gunners now attacking, with Sidnei sliding in on Gibbs.
Cazorla fells Pereira. Too eager to get to the ball. Sanchez then gifted his first touch. He dances past one challenge, then gives the ball away with a cross-field pass. Mixed bag, much more to come.
Monreal replaced by Miquel, Akpom sent on in place of Sanogo and Alexis introduced for Campbell. Huge welcome from the Emirates for the new boy.
Rare sight of goal for Lima, but he lashes at a Bebe centre and fires high over the top. More changes on the way.
Lima pulling out to the right. He has been kept very quiet. Credit to makeshift centre-halves Monreal and Chambers. They are being tested again now, but Chambers gets his body across Bebe and guides the ball back to Martinez.
Arsenal fans are to get their wish. Alexis is being readied. He is going to get the best part of 20 minutes to show what he can do. Shame for Sanogo as this has most definitely been his day.
Sanogo fighting his way towards the by-line, but eased out before he can cross. Great feet to get around two challenges, but was eventually outnumbered. Sanogo has now left the field. Must have tweaked something.
Cazorla picked out 25 yards from goal, but sees a shot blocked at source. Sanogo flicks down the left for Cazorla to chase, but Sidnei has trotted over to cover.
Candeias, the man who put in the cross moments ago, concedes a free-kick on the Benfica left. Arteta takes short. He then lifts over the top for Bellerin.
Pereira unable to get around Gibbs. Wilshere then dragged to the ground. Arsenal give the ball away far too easily again. Complacency creeping in. A dangerous cross from the left floats over Lima's head and forces Martinez into a smart low stop.
Arsenal playing across their back line. Benfica not as quick to get out to them now. They are gifted the ball back by the hosts, with Gaitan drifting down the middle. He tees up Bebe on the right of the box, but his terrible shot runs out for a throw.
Mexican wave has started, which tells you all you need to know about this game. Fans entertaining themselves. They have had plenty to cheer on the field, are now going to have a party in the stands. Pereira with another long throw, which Monreal clears.
Pace starting to drop. Understandable given where these two teams are at in pre-season. With the result also beyond doubt, no need for either team to push too hard. Arsenal keeping things tight, with Chambers conceding a throw.
Sanchez has been out warming up. Gets a great ovation from the home support. They will be hoping to see him on the field at some stage. Wenger not risking a player who has had very little training time with his new team-mates.
GOAL BENFICA - GAITAN. The visitors pull one back. Pereira's long throw is touched on the near post. Gaitan able to run down the middle untracked once again and nod home from close range.
Ramsey makes way for Wilshere. Arteta also on in place of Flamini. After all of that, we are ready to play football again. Benfica have a throw by the corner flag.
John makes way for Benfica, replaced by Candeias. Almeida sent on in place of Talisca. Rosicky withdrawn by Arsenal to make way for Coquelin.
Campbell is down and will require treatment. Benfica to try again with their substitutions. Arsenal also set to make changes.
Shambles really as the replacements had been stood on the touchline for a good few minutes. Play back underway, with Campbell prodding into the box. Benfica have enough bodies back. Bebe leads a counter, but Lima sees a cross blocked by Gibbs.
Benfica changes can now be made. Salvio replaced by Bebe. He ends up being the only one introduced at this stage as Jesus and his coaching staff are having difficulty choosing who to bring off!
Rosicky freeing Bellerin down the right. He decides to go it alone and cuts inside to the edge of the box. He works Artur with a left-foot shot, but never really troubles the target.
Neat work by Salvio as he dribbles his way past two red shirts. He helps the ball on to Talisca 25 yards out. He tries his luck, but scuffs a tame effort straight at Martinez.
Arsenal now sat deep, letting Benfica have the ball 40-odd yards from goal. They seem to be running out of ideas and end up going backwards. When Benito sends over a cross from the left, it has too much on it.
Pereira into Talisca, who is closed immediately on halfway. Arsenal really enjoying themselves. This is precisely the kind of performance you want to put in during pre-season. Get the confidence and goals flowing.
Benfica ready to make a number of changes. Former Manchester United forward Bebe among those being readied. They will have to wait as Artur has taken a goal kick.
Sanogo sniffing around the area again. This time he has to drift left. He tries to clip the ball out to Campbell, but Amorim is tracking back for Benfica.
Jesus out on the touchline waving his arms around. Whatever he said at half-time, it made no impact. On the field, Benito crunches into a challenge on Campbell. Throw given.
GOAL ARSENAL - SANOGO. A fourth for Sanogo. Benfica carved open again. Ramsey drills across the keeper, who fumbles. Sanogo in the right place to tap home. He falls over while celebrating, but he won't care. What an afternoon for the youngster!
Gaitan brushes past Ramsey, but is forced wide. Possession lost and Ramsey can break over halfway. He loses his footing, and the ball.
Talisca over the set-piece. Taken short, but is ordered to be re-taken. Talisca tries again. This time he fires into the box. Ball flicks off the head of Ramsey and narrowly wide of his own post. Third corner fired to the front post. Salvio can't make telling contact.
Benfica must be shell-shocked, especially as they created a number of decent chances of their own. Salvio looking to get them back into the contest from the off, as he wins a corner down the right.
Chris Green says: "Benfica have been dreadful defensively, which is hardly surprising because it was always going to be a challenging afternoon for the Portuguese side - especially if they couldn't manage to find a way of withstanding any pressure the Gunners throw at them."

Arsenal 4 Benfica 0. Commanding lead for the hosts at the interval and the promise of more to come as Wenger looks to introduce experience and fresh faces off the bench.
GOAL ARSENAL - SANOGO. First-half hat-trick for Sanogo. Rosicky bursts down the middle and looks left to Gibbs. His cross dips to the front post, where Sanogo enjoys a lucky break before prodding over Artur.
Very comfortable for Arsenal. Wenger had suggested that they may struggle fitness-wise against a well-oiled Benfica side, but that hasn't been the case.
GOAL ARSENAL - SANOGO. Hosts running away with this now. Oxlade-Chamberlain runs into Artur. Ball breaks out to Ramsey. He dinks into Campbell, who is clearly onside and squares for Sanogo to roll into an empty net.
Campbell could have added a third. Arsenal sweep forward again. Sanogo into the feet of Ramsey. He lays back to Rosicky, who tees up Campbell to his left. This time he rushes his shot and fires well wide.
Gibbs glances out a cross from Benito. Ball drops to Pereira, who forces a corner. Delivery isn't great and Martinez can claim unchallenged. Players on show earlier, including Monaco's Falcao, taking their seats in the stands.
A lot of Arsenal supporters were looking forward to seeing more of Campbell this season. He has offered enough so far to suggest that he can be a nuisance in the Premier League. Also has a keen eye for goal, as he has just shown.
GOAL ARSENAL -CAMPBELL. Great finish. Bellerin flying down the right and combining with Sanogo. He is able to drill a cross through to Campbell arriving at the back post. He guides a left-foot volley into the bottom corner from 12 yards out.
Looking at Lima's penalty shout again. Bellerin put an arm on his shoulder, but not enough to go down. Arsenal almost shot themselves in the foot as he was a misplaced pass 25 yards from goal which presented Gaitan with possession and space in which to look for a team-mate.
Salvio with a floated cross from the right. Martinez watches it all the way into his arms. Arsenal look to counter. Sanogo is sprung in on goal by Oxlade-Chamberlain. Flag goes up, and Sanogo stands on the ball anyway. Amorim down and will require treatment.
Gaitan back to Sidnei. The former has looked very sharp so far - easy to see why Premier League clubs have been looking at him. As play continues, Lima goes down in the box but is waved back to his feet.
Arsenal have been offered a couple of warnings at the back. Their marking hasn't been the best at times, with too many players allowed to make untracked runs. Something for Wenger and Bould to work on.
Monreal forced backwards, preventing Arsenal from breaking at pace. Oxlade-Chamberlain then losing out on halfway. Benfica see Gaitan flick into the path of Salvio. He is stretching 12 yards out and pokes straight at Martinez.
Sanogo leading Arsenal out again. He concedes a throw as his first touch isn't the best. If he is to fulfil his potential, he needs to master the art of hold-up play.
Amorim inside to Talisca. He dinks over the top of Bellerin towards John. Clever idea, but not enough room to work in. Ball skips off the turf and behind for a goal kick.
Space for Pereira on the edge of the box, but red shirts flood back. Ball fed out to John on the left. He has Benito bursting through in support, but he is unable to wrap his foot around the ball at full pace and clips a cross onto the roof of the net.
Monreal into the feet of Campbell, who gathers well inside his own half. Ramsey then tries to spring Oxlade-Chamberlain in behind, but puts too much on the pass. Ox and Campbell have switched sides.
Rosicky caught on the ball inside his own half. Ball fed to Gaitain, who tries to disguise a pass into Lima. Monreal reads his intentions and shuts the back door. Sanogo looks to counter, but can't outmuscle Pereira.
John closed down quickly again. Arsenal aren't allowing him any space now. Flamini then felled in the middle of the park. Wenger out on the touchline, hands on hips.
Gibbs racing down the left, forcing Pereira to slide the ball out of play. Oxlade-Chamberlain able to drift inside from the left and find Bellerin. His give and go with Ramsey comes to nothing.
Benfica looking for an immediate reponse. Oxlade-Chamberlain concedes a free-kick. Quickly take to Pereira. He hangs over a cross from the right. Bellerin switches off, but Benito fails to capitalise.
GOAL ARSENAL - SANOGO. Great take from Ramsey takes him clear of the Benfica defence. He bursts into the box and gets his head up early. Sanogo is square and flicks the ball home from four yards out. Goal put on a plate by Ramsey.
Talisca with a terrible cross-field pass intended for Benito but played a long way behind him and out for a throw. Shrug of the shoulders from Jesus on the sidelines. Bemused look on his face.
Free-kick whipped over by Talisca. Difficult one to deal with as it dips into the box. Flag goes up. Much to the relief of Monreal, who sees the ball cannon off both his legs and inches wide of the post.
Bellerin steps in front of John. Campbell then sent tumbling by Amorim, but decision goes against him. This may be a pre-season contest, but the tackles are flying in. No quarter being given by either side. Good to see.
Loose pass from Cesar which bobbles out of play by Arsenal's left corner flag. Benfica step up in an effort to keep the hosts inside their own half. Plan works, but clipped pass into Lima is prodded back to Martinez. Chambers did well to get across.
No complaints from Monreal. He hung out a leg to prevent Gaitan from passing as the Benfica playmaker looked to surge into open field. The resulting free-kick produces little.
Play back underway. Campbell gathers a loose pass, but is unable to drill into the feet of Sanogo. Arsenal looking to peg Benfica back inside their own half, but they are a good side and play their way out. Monreal cautioned as he trips Gaitan on halfway.
Eliseu is struggling and will be forced off. Benfica quick to ready a change, with Benito sent on into the back four. First of many changes made slightly earlier than expected.
Benfica slowing things down now, making Arsenal work. Pereira lets his side down as he slices out for a throw. Gibbs gets down the left and feels he has won a corner off Periera. Decision goes the other way. Cross clearly took a deflection. Bad call by Lee Mason.
Bellerin in behind now, as he bursts down the right. He gets his head up and feeds a dangerous cross to the near post. Sanogo meets the delivery on the half-volley, but slices well wide off his shin. Another sight of goal for the hosts.
Campbell in acres of space, with Eliseu letting him run. Scooped pass from Ramsey picks him out, but Campbell sends a tame effort well wide as he stretches to meet the ball on the full. Arsenal remain on the front foot, with Sanogo leading a charge. He lays off to Ramsey, who sees a shot blocked from 12 yards out.
Ramsey breaking down the middle, and is spotted. Flamini's pass has a fraction too much on it and Artur can race from his goal to clear. Arsenal then force a throw on their left, and play across the field.
Artur waving team-mates forward. Long clearance is met by Campbell. Arsenal slow things down as they play along their back four. Chambers then gives the ball to John. His floated pass aimed at Lima is met by Martinez. Confident keeping.
Rosicky out to Bellerin on the right. He slips past two challenges as he slaloms into the box. Run eventually ended, but the ball breaks back his way. A snap-shot from the edge of the box is deflected behind. Oxlade-Chamberlain over the set-piece. Delivery is nodded out to Rosicky, who drills through the box and wide of the post.
Salvio getting to the by-line now and clipping over a cross. Benfica lack numbers in the box and Bellerin is able to chase the ball away on the left after seeing it sail over his head at the back post.
Off the woodwork. Pereira overlapping down the right again. He can cut back to the edge of the box. Gaitan connects cleanly with a half-volley, but sees his effort clip the top of the crossbar. He was left completely unmarked 16 yards out.
Sanogo slips his man, but is on his own again. Ramsey forced wide to collect a wayward pass. He looks to drift to the by-line, but Amorim stands tall and blocks his path. Ball runs behind for a goal kick.
Chambers in smartly on Lima. Ball fed out to Oxlade-Chyamberlain on the left. He cuts inside, but has to go square. As expected, not a lot of room in the middle of the park.
Sloppy from Eliseu as he plays the ball out for a throw on the Arsenal right. Campbell with a nice touch and playing square through midfield. He is then looking for the ball again, but Ramsey's dinked pass finds the Costa Rican in an offside position.
Talisca with a heavy challenge which leaves Ramsey on the deck. He is soon back to his feet. Free-kick taken short, then back to Martinez. Benfica looking to press Arsenal high up the field.
Gaitan tripped again by Flamini in midfield. Arsenal aware that he is the dangerman for Benfica - capable of making them tick. Free-kick taken quickly and out to John. He slips Bellerin, but curls a cross into the hands of Martinez.
Pereira on the outside of Salvio. He feeds over a low cross towards the penalty spot. Rosicky on hand to clear for Arsenal. Campbell out to Sanogo on the counter. He lacks support and gives the ball away when looking for Rosicky to his left.
Campbell clips forward towards Ramsey. Ball nodded clear. Gibbs then presses Eliseu and wins the ball by the corner flag. From the right, he is unable to provide a dangerous cross.
Arsenal play out from the back. Chambers getting plenty of early touches, which will help to settle him down. Hosts look left this time, but Gibbs is prevented from surging down the flank.
John operating on the left for Benfica. Held up by Campbell on this occasion. Arsenal happy to play backwards to Martinez. He fires long. Rosicky feeds right to Campbell. He drives into the box and hits the deck. Nothing given against Eliseu.
Ramsey heads down the right flank. Never really in control of the ball. Possession squandered and Flamini concedes an early foul as he chops through the back of Gaitan.
Embrace between Wenger and Jesus in the tunnel, with the Arsenal boss then high-fiving the mascots. Relaxed mood behind the scenes. Players now making their way out.
Players heading back down the tunnel. Kick-off fast approaching. Big opportunity from the start for the likes of Chambers and Campbell to catch the eye. Arsenal fans will be hoping to see new boys Debuchy amd Sanchez off the bench.
Both sides lining up with 4-5-1 formations. Could get very congested in midfield. Sanogo and Lima have to make sure they stay up top and aren't tempted to drop deep looking for the ball.
Jese Wells says: "Would be nice to see Joel Campbell get a bit of action today. Cant wait to see new siging Alexis Sanchez playing for us and seeing him link up with the likes of Chamberlin and Walcott."
Benfica team: Artur, Amorim, Gaitan, Lima, Pereira, John, Salvio, Eliseu, Sidnei, Talisca, Cesar. Subs: Derley, Lopes, Jara, Benito, Cancelo, Bebe, Almeida, Felipe, Candeias, Lindelof, Texeira.

One game down in the 2014 Emirates Cup. Valencia and Monaco have opened things up with a 2-2 draw. Now time for Arsenal and Benfica to take centre stage. Players straight out for a quick warm-up.
Chris Green has added: "I've been impressed with Arsenal's business in the transfer window so far, particularly with the swoop for former Barcelona starlet Alexis Sanchez. However, they will need to bring in a few more players before they can consider themselves as genuine title contenders."
Hayden Jenkins says: "Happy to see Arsenal dipping into the transfer market early. Good quality signings and got rid of the deadwood players. Exciting times to come for the gunners. In Wenger we trust."

For anyone unsure as to the format of this competition, the winner is determined by topping a mini-league. Each of the four teams, including Valencia and Monaco, play two games and are awarded an extra point for every goal scored on top of the usual win, lose, draw system. For the record, Galatasaray are the current holders.
You can also bet in-play throughout the afternoon at Skybet.com. Arsenal start as favourites at 4/6, with Benfica 7/2 and the draw 13/5. You can get 4/1 on Alexis opening the scoring.
