Van Persie tries to make something happen on the edge of the Olympiakos area but Mellberg gets in the way.
Djebbour fouls Arteta againand the Gunners then get another quick free-kick as Rosicky is hauled down at halfway.
Pantelic tries his best to create an opening on the edge of the Arsenal area but Song does well once again and clears any danger.
Van Persie wins a free-kick on the left of the Olympiakos box after a hefty challenge from Mellberg.
Van Persie wriggles around in the box to make space and gets off a shot with his left foot but it hits a defender and is cleared.
Arshavin causes more problems and wins a free-kick 25 yards out after a foul by Fuster. The latter goes in the book.
Better from Arshavin in the box and he manages to force a save from Costanzo with a to-poked effort.
Arshavin tries to work the ball onto his left side but he is unable to get a shot away in the Greek box. Chamberlain goes off and is replaced by Aaron Ramsey.
Corner on the left for Olympiakos and it is headed clear by Santos. Slight suspicion of handball in t e Arsenal area by Chamberlain.
Fantastic effort from the right edge of the Arsenal area by Torosidis as his curling left-foot effort beats Szczesny and then rattles back off the bar.
Rosicky looks for Santos but sloppily gives the ball away again as Arsenal try to push toward the Olympiakos box.
Good run from Mirallas and he looks to be fouled 25 yards from the Arsenal goal but no free-kick is given.
Cross from the right is almost met by Chamakh in the Greek box but Mellberg does enough to put him off.
Shot by Arteta from 25 yards but it only manages to hit the hapless Chamakh on the edge of the area.
Fuster tries to release Ariel Ibagaza in the Arsenal box but his effort is blocked before he can unleash a shot.
Chamberlain outspeeds Holebas down the right and the latter is forced to haul him down but there is no free-kick and no second yellow for the left-back.
Corner to Olympiakos on the right. It leads to a long distance shot from Holebas which goes miles over the bar.
Olof Mellberg across well to stop Arteta but gives away the throw deep in the Olympiakos half. Arshavin crosses from the right but it bounces off the bar before reaching Chamakh. The ball had gone behind anyway for a goal-kick.
Chamberlain crosses from the right but both Arshavin and Chamakh are unable to find a meaningful touch goalward.
Chamberlain tries a nice liitle trick inside the Greek box after a pass from Sagna but it does not quite come off.
The Gunners certainly upped their game a bit so far and are looking quicker to the ball as they close down Olympiakos.
Great chance for Chamberlain, who gets through one-on-one with Costanza after a superb ball from Chamakh but the teenager can't lift the ball over the keeper.
Mirallas tries a good attempt from outside the box and Czszesny is forced to dive across his goal to cover it although it does go wide.
Good defending by Frimpong as he halts Torosidis but then he dives in a bit and gives away the free-kick in a good spot on the right for the Greeks.
A lively and open first half and Sky Bet make Arsenal 1/4 with Olympiakos on offer at 12/1. The draw is 7/2. Chamakh is 6/1 to get the next goal while the impressive Mirallas is an 8/1 chance. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is 10/1 to add to his opener by netting next.
Sagna and Chamakh try to combine down the right but once again the latter is carless and gives away the ball.
Good battling from Chamakh in the Olympiakos box but the ball deflects off him and goes into the arms of Costanzo.
Good pace down the right from Chamberlain and he delivers a fine cross but there is no-one on the end. Arshavin and Rosicky can't decide who is going to shoot and the ball is cleared.
Mirallas shows great pace after pinching the ball off Sagna and he speeds into the box. He shoots under pressure from Mertesacker and Szczesny has to make the save.
Chamakh and Holebas collide challenging for a high ball and the latter is left on the turf for a few seconds.
Arteta whips in thecorner and Costanza punches clear. Olympiakos break well and Sagna has to be across sharply to clear. There was an offside and Arsenal can relieve the pressure.
The free-kick is rather wasted and Arsenal clear comfortably. Olympiakos then get the ball back into the danger area again and Per Mertesacker has to clear once more.
Sagna gives the ball away in midfield and Rosicky chases back only to foul Mirallas right on the edge of the Arsenal box and he goes in the book.
Arteta delivers a good ball into the centre but it is cleared before the Spaniard commits a foul and Olympiakos can clear their lines.
Djebbour's shot requires a good save from Szczesny after Arsenal look very shaky at the back. The ball is delivered to the back post again after the corner and then flashes goalward and Szczesny is called into action once more.
GOAL FUSTER: Straightforward for the Greeks as they can cross under no pressure on the left following a corner and a good header is well placed in the corner to beat Szczesny.
Another flowing move for Arsenal as Chamakh is put through by Arshavin but the striker's left-foot shot is dragged wide. It should have been 3-0.
GOAL SANTOS: A first goal for the Gunners as he pounces on a rebound to fire home. He did much of the build-up work too as his cross just fails to find Chamakh but he is alert enough to pick up the second ball and score from close range.
Fuster tries to break but a strong challenge from Emmanuel Frimpong takes the ball off him and it rolls through to Szczesny.
Santos fires a long ball forward from the left-nback position but it is too strong for any of the Arsenal front line and goes through to Franco Costanza.
Olympiakos continue to press and a sloppy clerance by Song gives them a throw just inside the Arsenal half.
Arteta saves a certain goal as he clears off the line from Rafik Djebbour. Awful defending from Arsenal after a corner and the chance drops to Djebbour two yards out but Artta some how makes the block.
More skill from Chamberlain and his pass finds Arteta. He crosses and it is deflected behind for a corner. Arteta takes and Marouane Chamakh meets it with his head but it goes wide.
Nice ball from Andrey Arshavin for Rosicky to chase but he is not quick enough and the danger is cleared.
GOAL OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN: No surprise as the teenager has impressed so far. He collects the ball on the edge of the area, beats one defender and calmly slots the ball into the corner with great aplomb.
Chamberlain and Andre Santos combine then the Arsenal move breaks down as captain Tomas Rosicky loses the ball just outside the Greek area.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has the chance to chase a ball over the top but it is just too strong and goes behind for a goal-kick.
First chance of the game for Olympiakos after a good break down the right but David Fuster fires wide from 10 yards when the ball is crossed.
Aundrae Wood says: "It cannot be said enough that the Arsenal squad has a decided lack of depth. To start Emmanuel Frimpong in a home champion's league encounter underscores that that very point...my hope as an Arsenal fan is that we start fast to get the crowd involved and hopefully gather momentum. We are going to need all the help we can get tonight."

Arsenal remain strong 8/15 favourites with Sky Bet despite their injury problems with Olympiacos 11/2 to win at the Emirates and a draw 3/1. In Robin van Persie's absence, Marouane Chamakh is 5/1 to break the deadlock while Kevin Miralles is rated as the visitor's biggest threat at 10/1 to score first.
Pre-Match: Robin van Persie is only named among the substitutes as Arsenal looked to earn their first Champions League Group F win of the season against Olympiacos at the Emirates Stadium tonight. With one eye on Sunday's north London derby at Tottenham, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger decided to leave the Dutchman on the substitutes' bench and opted for Marouane Chamakh to start up front for the third time this season. Wenger made six changes in total, one of which saw Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain make his Champions League debut against an Olympiacos team that included former Aston Villa defender Olof Mellberg.
