Arsenal's attention turns to European action on Wednesday as they face Olympiakos in the UEFA Champions League. The Gunners have endured a disappointing opening to the 2011/12 campaign, with a dip in form giving cause for concern. They were, however, able to pick up three Premier League points against Bolton on Saturday and will have taken plenty of confidence from that showing. Arsene Wenger will be hoping for more of the same in midweek, with his side having taken a point from their Group F opener against Borussia Dortmund last time out. Olympiakos were seen off by Marseille in their first fixture, so there is all to play for at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal have fared admirably on home soil in recent seasons and will be confident of picking up their first continental victory of the campaign. Olympiakos, meanwhile, will arrive in North London aware that their record in England makes for uncomfortable reading. The Greek outfit have lost all nine of their previous away games against English sides, conceding 29 goals and scoring just one - against Liverpool in 2004/05. They lost 2-0 at the Emirates during the 2009/10 group stages, with goals from Robin van Persie and Andrey Arshavin putting them to the sword.

Selection headache

Wenger finds himself short on numbers for the midweek clash and facing something of a selection headache. Arsenal will be without England winger Theo Walcott (knee), centre-back Laurent Koscielny (ankle) and forward Gervinho (hamstring). Midfielder Yossi Benayoun (thigh) and centre-back Johan Djourou (hamstring) are also sidelined. Midfielders Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and defender Thomas Vermaelen are continuing with their rehabilitation from ankle injuries.
Squad boost
In contrast, Olympiakos are set to welcome a number of senior figures back into their squad. Fuster (thigh), Ljubomir Fejsa (groin), Giannis Potouridis (groin) and Ariel Ibagaza (foot) are all available again after shaking off knocks. Giannis Fetfatzidis (abdominal problem), Giannis Maniatis (groin) and Francisco Yeste (rib) are ruled out.
