Remember you can follow me on twitter @1rebs.. but thats all from me, Rebecca Stephenson for tonight... hope to see you for another game again soon.
Its over - Arsenal lose to foreign opposition at the Emirates for the first time and surrender top spot in the group
A last hurrah from Arsenal as Gnabry forces a save from the goalkeeper Unnerstall, who hasnt had much to do.
The stadium is fast emptying as the germans party in the corner to a German version of Glory Glory Man Utd/Tottenham Hotspur which is sure to go down well with the Arsenal fans
Farfan has deserved the assist, no surprises that the goal comes from the right hand side as Farfan beats Santos, and this time threads the ball between keeper and defenders for Afellay at the back post who has the simple task of side-footing home
Gnabry almost creates a chance with his first touch.. beats his man and squares it but its too close to the goalkeeper
Podolski is off for Arshavin and Jenkinson is coming off to be replaced by Gnabry for his Champions League debut aged 17
Jenkinson crosses for Giroud but his header is blocked, but they come again.. Ramsey overhits his cross out of play
Ten minutes for Arsenal to rescue this.. looks like a double change is on the way too, Arshavin and Gnabry being readied
The 3000+ German fans are going mad in the corner.. on the positive side for Arsenal, Olympiakos have equalised in France 1-1
It was a header straight between the two centre-halves that fell to Huntelaar, played onside by Santos and he slotted it home
And its Gervinho going off.. seems a popular decision inside the stadium - enthusiastic cheers at his exit.. Giroud given a good welcome - let's hope he's got better shooting boots on than he had at Norwich
but the referee has seen it dead right and Gervinho becomes the second player booked for diving tonight
Farfan threads it through but the cross misses everyone... Gervinho breaks and goes down in the area..............
You feel Arsenal need some fresh impetus just to change the direction of their attacks, give Schalke something different to think about.. they have Giroud on the bench
Good cross from Uchida but no-one is there to meet it.. Gervinho breaks on the wing - where he looks more comfortable, good cross but as he's out wide, no-one is central to convert it
Here come Schalke with their dangerous double-act Farfan and Uchida.. this time they're snuffed out though.. the pace of the game has slowed quite a bit in the last 10 minutes
Fuchs is allowed to run all the way through.. his weak shot wins a corner but it comes to nothing as the ball is headed down into the ground and bounces over the crossbar
Gail - None of English clubs look that impressive. Ajax were all over City and Arsenal look lacking in ideas.
What an opportunity for Schalke - cut back by Farfan who skins Santos AGAIN, but it falls to Howedes who skies it (defenders shot)
great chance for Arsenal, the magician cazorla dances past 3 players, eventually came to Coquelin but his ball is cut out
Here's a message from our friends at SkyBet....After a goalless opening period, the Gunners are 6/4 to beat their Bundesliga opposition, with the draw 5/4 and Schalke 11/4 to seal an away victory. Gervinho has looked lively so far and has been price-boosted to 8/1 to score the next goal, with Jefferson Farfan 11/1 to bag the next goal for the visitors.
Jim - I don't think Steve will say what we all want him to say..... "Listen, Santos is not a good defender, we need to help him now (then eyeball the 2 DMs). Plus, you lot are giving the ball up way too easy, losing possession at midfield or in our half! Finally, Gervinho, how about you stop overrunning the crosses, latch on to the genius through-balls and put it away!
Kev - Santos is a liability. Needs to be taken off, Farfan is running rings round him. Bould won't be happy with that. Bould should ring Winterburn & get him on for Santos, at least we know he can defend!!
Irfan - Its not about talking but more about action. Bring on Koscielny for Santos. Play him or Vermaelen on the left.
Of course Arsene Wenger can't communicate with his dressing room under the terms of his ban so its down to Steve Bould - but what would you be saying to the Arsenal players??
It's half-time and Arsenal HAVE to sort out their left hand side - Farfan and Uchida having a field day against Santos.
Uchida catches Santos out again, puts the ball into the near post and Huntelaar puts it wide - He should have put that in!! Major escape for Arsenal, that should be 1-0. His coach is going ballistic on the touchline
Iain - it was a stone wall penalty for Schalke, he could have easily chipped the keeper from that range
Schalke break into the box... the dangerous Farfan cuts in, beats one man and looks to have a great chance to score but his shot is blocked
Arsenal well on top but just missing the finishing touch.. but the Germans are dangerous on the break
Fantastic ball through by Cazorla to Gervinho but he doesn't do it justice and allows the defender to get back at him.. should've done better there
A free kick almost in the corner is given as Coquelin commits the foul.. Holtby swings it in but headed clear by Podolski
Podolski pulls it across but it eludes everyone.. it went behind Gervinho at the near post.. schalke break and win a corner..
Bit of a spell from Schalke here, cross into the box headed out, the German's retain posession but Uchida is offside
Dive or a penalty?? if you're watching let me know what you thought - @1rebs, firstname.lastname@example.org
Schalke suddenly find a bit of attacking spirit - farfan is felled by Vermaelen, who is the second player booked
Afellay booked for diving - not sure he deserved that - Arsenal lucky to get away with that - could easily have been a penalty
a few empty seats in the Emirates tonight, but those here are on their feet as Podolski puts a ball into the near post but Gervinho flicks it wide
Early play all in the central third, Arsenal just moving the ball around, first attack comes to nothing as Gervinho dawdles on the ball
So, the teams are out, the anthem has played, the handshake has taken place and we're almost ready for Kick Off.
Ami from Nottingham - Important game. After Saturday's performance, Arsenal need to get back in the game. 3-2.
Carl - As a less than happy Gunner from the weekend, hoping for a comfortable, morale boosting 3-0 win but predicting a nervy 2-1 win!
Felix - I'm an Arsenal fan and expect them to pick up three points. Going for a 1-0 win for Arsenal, Cazorla getting the goal.
Keep your opinions coming in, remember you can tweet me @1rebs or e-mail me at email@example.com
Schalke are in good form with three wins on the trot coming into this game.. the last two being away from home too
So if Arsenal can win tonight they will be all-but through to the knockout phase... I'll keep you up to date with Montpellier v Olympiakos too.. but a win will see Wenger's men five points clear of the rest in group B
Gabriel: I normally root for English teams in the CL but I do quite like Schalke so I'm not sure who I want to win. With Arsenal already top of the group, Wenger might have half an eye on Saturday's derby with QPR as the Gunners need to pick up their league position more than anything else. Schalke are a good team, I think they can secure a draw here.
Jamie (Man Utd Fan) - I'm wanting Arsenal to get 3 points today. They have had a good couple of games in the Premier League and there is no reason why they should not be able to gain the 3 points here.
Andre - Chelsea Fan: I reckon 1-1 with Podolski with the Goal for Arsenal and Farfan with the goal for Schalke, tough opposition
Adam from Cornwall: If Arsenal win tonight they are all but through to the knockout stages, and I think they'll do just that, but just! I can see this being a tight and quite a boring game to watch. The Gunners to nick it 1-0. Podolski to get the goal.
Michael from Chicago: Arsenal need all the 3 points tonight so the team can focus more on The Premier League.
Arsene Wenger has named his team...there's just one change, midfielder Francis Coquelin comes into the side which lost 1-0 at Norwich, Olivier Giroud is dropped to the bench.
