Bayern Munich kept up their charge towards a second straight Bundesliga title with a comfortable 5-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday. Mario Gotze, Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Dante and Mario Mandzukic were all on target for Pep Guardiola's side, who reopened a 13-point cushion at the top of the table. Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp ensured Bayern did not win by a greater scoreline as the Bavarians made it 44 Bundesliga games without defeat. Trapp kept Bayern at bay for 12 minutes before finally capitulating to Gotze, who took the ball down well on his chest before volleying past the forlorn Frankfurt goalkeeper into the far corner. Frankfurt, whose coach Armin Veh appeared to have accepted defeat before kick-off by resting several of his first-team regulars, were left chasing a game which nobody expected them to win. Unsurprisingly, they failed and they had Trapp to thank that Gotze did not make it two in the 23rd minute when he made a save with his leg from the Germany international. Bayern doubled their advantage just before the break when Mandzukic's header from Rafinha's cross was blocked by Alexander Madlun, and the ball fell to Ribery to mark his return to the team with a goal. Gotze was denied by the post before Rafinha and Ribery were both thwarted by Trapp, while Joselu wasted Frankfurt's biggest chance of the night in a one-on-one with Manuel Neuer. Robben made it three soon after coming on from the bench and Dante then flicked home a Ribery corner to put the result beyond any doubt with 20 minutes still to be played. There was therefore time for Mandzukic to add his name to the scoresheet, his first goal of 2014 wrapping up yet another convincing win.
