Brilliant late tackle from Cahill as he makes a great challenge on Cardozo, who misses chance to take the match into extra time.
GOAL - BRANISLAV IVANOVIC - The Serb meets Mata's corner and plants a great header into the corner. Stunning goal to win it.
My word what an effort from Lampard, Mata works the ball back to him and he slams it against the bar from 30-yards. So unlucky.
Great challenge from Luisao as throws himself in front of Ramires to block his shot. Corner comes in and Cahill flicks it wide.
Torres drives forward and has Luisao and Jardel on their heels but instead of going for goal he looks for Ramires, and chance is gone.
Torres turns in the box, he is not happy as he looks for a penalty. Nothing given. Play stopped as Garay is down.
GOAL - FERNANDO TORRES - Chelsea counter from Cech throw, Mata flicks it on for Torres, he holds off Luisao and goes past Arthur and finishes with great aplomb.
Better from Ramires, he gets forward and crosses into the box for Oscar - corner Chelsea. Mata takes but Luisao rises to head clear.
Nice play from Torres, he looks for run of Ramires but he is just offside - should have held his run.
Cardozo heads home in-swinging cross from Gaitan - but flag is up quickly. Chelsea on the ropes - have started second-half as poorly as they did the first.
Ramires brings down Melgarejo, but strangely no yellow. Ball comes in and Chelsea just about scramble the ball away.
Salvio goes down under challenge from Cole. Free-kick is worked short by Perez, he finds Salvio - he puts a great cross into the box but Cahill does well to head it away.
Robiul Miah 'The game overall is shaky....we r nt doing particularly well torres is doing well up front 2 hold the ball...luiz wid crackin passes...however defense need a wake-up call'
Lovely play by Torres holding off the defence, turning and playing in Azpilicueta - but he is offside, he shouldnt of been as he was looking across the line, poor from the full-back.
Benfica corner as Cahill just gets ahead of Cardozo. Taken short, but Chelsea manage to clear - but Benfica are retain the ball and the English side are pinned in their own half.
Lampard picks the ball up in the Benfica half for the first time and unleashes one, and Artur only just manages to push that wide.
Benfica free-kick wide on the left, Gaitan takes but Lampard heads clear - Benfica well on top again.
Gaitan uses the outside of his left foot to go for top corner after good work from Rodrigo and Melgarejo but it is over from the Argentine.
Lovely ball from Luiz to Oscar, he looks to play in Mata but good defending from Garay sees Artur come out and claim the ball.
Cardozo and Garay over it, but it looks like the Paraguayan will strike it - he does but the wall does its job and Frank Lampard sees it safely back to Cech.
Cardozo sets Almeida down the right again, he crosses to the back post for Gaitan - but instead of going for goal he looks to pull it back and David Luiz is back to help it to Cech.
First effort from Chelsea as Oscar goes for goal from 25-yards but Artur takes it at the second attempt.
Mata again pulling the string, he looks for Ramires but Oscar's touch takes it away from his compatriot and it runs out for a goal-kick.
Torres wins free-kick on the right touchline - chance for Chelsea to put this into the box - Mata takes and Artur acrobatically punches the ball away.
Bradley @28brad 42m @graemebailey 'not a fan of Ramires on the wing - after his stinker at Villa, Moses should be in the starting XI'
Mata looks to play in Oscar on the edge of the box but Garay makes crucial interception for Benfica.
Cardozo looks like he fancies it, it is played shot down the side to Almeida - and he plays it into the six-yard box, Rodrigo has great chance but he slips twice and fails to convert.
More excellent football from Benfica, it comes for Salvio - he pulls it back for Nico Gaitan, but he from the edge of the box he fires well over when he should have tested Petr Cech.
Great ball from Matic on the left for Melgarejo, he pulls it back for Cardozo - his shot is blocked and it comes for Salvio, but Ashley Cole does well to charge it down. Good play from Benfica.
Juan Mata looks to pick run of Oscar but it just is too strong for the Brazilian - almost clean through.
Frank Lampard caught by late challenge from Enzo Perez - nothing given, clearly Benfica are not backing off their English giants here.
First chance sees Andre Almeida gets cross in from the right finds Oscar Cardozo but he heads over - half a chance for the Paraguayan.
Shannel Mwakio: I think Torres will shine with the help of Mata even though Cardozo is going to cause problems to Chelsea back four. Final score regular time [90 minutes] Chelsea 3:1 Benfica Mata, Torres and Lampard to score.
Paul Begg: 'I am going for a Hazard and Terry-less Chelsea tonight, upset to see those two out of the match but with the midfield of Lampard, Mata, Oscar and Rami - we are far too strong for Benfica. I hope Torres has the game of his life tonight as well.'
Plenty of reaction coming in, all seems to be favouring a Chelsea success...like Dave Lepage, he has mailed in: 'Brilliant team by benitez, Chelsea to win 3-1.'
John Terry's ankle injury means he misses out on a second European final in 12 months, he is not fit enough for the bench.
