Baptiste to face late check; Cisse missing for Royals

Reading hope to get their promotion bid back on track when they travel to Blackpool in the Championship on Easter Monday. Defender Alex Baptiste is a doubt for Blackpool's home clash with Reading after he limped off in Saturday's famous 1-0 derby win at Preston. Baptiste was forced off with 15 minutes remaining and was replaced by Simon Walton, who was making his debut. Walton is likely to deputise if Baptiste fails to make it. Keith Southern and DJ Campbell were passed fit for the Deepdale clash after ankle injuries and showed no ill-effects, meaning they should both be involved against the Royals. Strike duo Roy O'Donovan and Ben Burgess were handed starting spots for the derby game and will hope to have impressed sufficiently to continue.

      Royals team news

Reading will be without Kalifa Cisse for the trip after he was stretchered off during Friday's 1-0 loss to Sheffield United. The first half was held up for seven minutes while midfielder Cisse was treated after a challenge from Darius Henderson. Cisse was taken to hospital and is now recovering from a whiplash-type injury to his neck. Brynjar Gunnarsson is edging closer to a first-team return after sitting out the Royals' last two Championship fixtures. The Icelander came off in the 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace and then sat out the Coventry and Sheffield United games. Right-back Liam Rosenior has completed a two-match suspension but is also nursing a broken hand. And with club captain Graeme Murty still out with the calf problem which has wrecked his campaign youngster Julian Kelly will continue, while Ivar Ingimarsson will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
