Blackpool v Shrewsbury preview
Last Updated: 26/04/18 6:04pm
Blackpool's Jim McAlister is back from a broken leg for the match with Shrewsbury.
The 32-year-old came off the bench in last weekend's 3-0 win at Gillingham to make his first league appearance in over 14 months. Loan goalkeeper Joe Lumley has been recalled by parent club QPR following an injury to Matt Ingram.
Defender Kelvin Mellor (ankle) is close to fitness having missed the win over Fleetwood last time out.
Shrewsbury could keep rotating their squad, having missed out on automatic promotion. They will finish third in Sky Bet League One and named just six substitutes for their 3-1 win over Peterborough last time out.
Defender Toto Nsiala continues to play with a fractured cheekbone, while Stefan Payne has recovered from a groin problem. Defender Junior Brown and midfielder Abumere Ogogo are long-term absentees.
The Seasiders have failed to find the net in six of their last seven meetings with Shrewsbury in all competitions (D1 L6), including both encounters this season.
Shrewsbury haven't lost a league match at Bloomfield Road since February 1996 - when Blackpool were managed by Sam Allardyce - winning two and drawing one of their three visits since.
Blackpool have won each of their last four league games, keeping clean sheets in three. They have not won five league games on the spin since a run of eight straight victories ending August 2007.
Shrewsbury have lost just one of their last eight league games on the road (W5 D2), but are currently winless in their last three (D2 L1).
Shaun Whalley has been directly involved in three goals in his two league appearances against Blackpool for the Shrews (one goal, two assists). Against no other side has he had a hand in more for the club.
