Parma came from behind to pick up a 2-1 win over Bologna which takes them up to eighth in Serie A. Frederik Sorensen's first goal of the season put Bologna in front in the 54th minute but goals from Jaime Valdes and Nicola Sansone earned Roberto Donadoni's side all three points. Bologna drop to within three points of the bottom three with their 10th defeat of the season. The first half was a very tight affair with Bologna enjoying most of the possession, but Parma were much more effective when they had the ball. Several shots from distance, the best of which coming from Sansone, were all dealt with easily by Federico Agliardi, who was the busier of the two goalkeepers. Jonathan Biabiany gave him more work in the 35th minute as saved a powerful shot from an angle. Bologna took the lead 10 minutes into the second half when a header came back off the post, allowing Alessandro Diamanti to muscle his way into the area and set up Sorensen, who scored his first goal of the season on the volley. Only two minutes later, Valdes unleashed a curling effort from fully 35 yards which caught Agliardi off his line and nestled in the top left-hand corner. Ten minutes later, Sansone put Parma ahead, arrowing in a volley from 12 yards after meeting Massimo Gobbi's cross. As Bologna pushed men forward, Donadoni sent Amauri on and he nearly wrapped up victory on the counter-attack, but his placed shot from 20 yards went just wide of the right-hand post. The home team then missed the chance to level when Cristian Pasquato took a swipe at the ball with only Nicola Pavarini to beat before Gilardino tested the Parma goalkeeper, albeit from an offside position.
