Reims edged away from the Ligue 1 relegation zone following a goalless draw at Bordeaux. Hubert Fournier's side enjoyed the best of the chances and Floyd Ayit saw a shot cleared off the line late on as they had to be content with a point. It moves Reims four points clear of the bottom three with four games remaining. Bordeaux's season is in danger of petering out completely, with no more than a mid-table finish likely, and they failed to create anything in an opening period dominated by the visitors' urgency for a result. After eight minutes Ayit released Franck Signorino and he raced towards goal before firing a shot that Cedric Carrasso did well to keep out. Christopher Glombard skimmed the post with a low drive on the half-hour following a counter-attack triggered by Kossi Agassa's vision out of defence. Reims' first-half dominance went unrewarded, though, as Henrique curled a shot that had Carrasso beaten but missed the target by inches. Bordeaux's first attempt finally arrived eight minutes after the re-start and David Bellion should have made it count on the scoreboard. Andre Poko muscled his way forward and freed Bellion but with only the keeper to beat he saw the ball smuggled away to the dismay of the home fans. Anthony Weber had a header cleared away by Agassa for a corner before Ayit was denied with 10 minutes left. The Togo winger latched on to Antoine Devaux's cross but his first-time strike was blocked on the line by Marc Planus. In the end, Reims were happy for the point as Agassa needed to be at full stretch late on to deny Saivet.
