Steve Williams' stoppage-time goal earned Bradford only their second win of the season as they beat Gillingham 1-0.

Saturday's League Two clash at Valley Parade had moved into the second minute of added time when left-back Luke O'Brien's free-kick was cleared into the path of Tommy Doherty on the right-hand touchline and when the midfield player returned it into the goalmouth, Williams outjumped Gillingham keeper Lance Cronin to head the ball into the net. Bradford did not have their first effort on target until the 61st minute, but former England and Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie, who has joined the Bantams on a short-term contract, inspired a second-half improvement when he came on as a half-time substitute. However, the Gillingham defence appeared to be coping with everything the home side could throw at them until Williams' dramatic late winner. After a bright start by Bradford, Gillingham took control of the game up to half-time, but their best effort fell to substitute Stanley Aborah seven minutes from the end and he headed straight at keeper Jon McLaughlin.
