Burnley v MK Dons preview

Image: Jensen: Groin strain

Team news ahead of Tuesday night's Carling Cup third-round clash between Burnley and MK Dons at Turf Moor.

Burnley boss Eddie Howe will assess the fitness of three players before the clash. His main worry will be long-serving goalkeeper Brian Jensen, who limped off just 17 minutes into the Clarets' 2-1 defeat to Peterborough with a groin strain and is due to undergo a scan. Defender Ben Mee was knocked out in a collision during that game and has been suffering with a headache since. Midfielder Dean Marney has also been complaining of a stomach problem but Howe is hopeful he will be available. Junior Stanislas will definitely play no part against the Dons. The midfielder, who moved to Turf Moor on deadline day, is cup-tied having represented West Ham against Aldershot in the first round. Jabo Ibehre will return to the MK Dons squad after suspension, but Gary MacKenzie is banned for the third-round tie at Turf Moor. Forward Ibehre missed the 1-1 home draw against Huddersfield on Saturday, serving a one-match ban following his red card in the 3-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday the previous weekend. MacKenzie is set to start a three-match suspension after the defender was sent off for violent conduct against the Terriers. It remains to be seen whether manager Karl Robinson will restore Ibehre to his starting line up. Youngster Adam Chicksen is likely to replace MacKenzie in the Dons defence. Lewis Guy, George Baldock and Anthony McNamee are available should Robinson wish to make more changes.
