Highlights of the Sky Bet League One match between Bury and Shrewsbury.

Bottom side Bury made a mockery of the Sky Bet League One standings as they claimed a deserved 1-0 home win against leaders Shrewsbury.

Shrews winger Shaun Whalley missed a 43rd-minute penalty against the run of play and the Shakers made them pay to claim a deserved victory.

Greg Leigh's 56th-minute effort proved enough for Bury's first league win in seven, condemning the Shrews to just their second defeat in 18 games.

The hosts bossed it throughout, with Michael Smith heading over from a Jay O'Shea free-kick.

O'Shea curled over from around 25 yards before Smith's low strike was blocked by keeper Dean Henderson's right boot.

Mihai Dobre then tested Henderson but Carlton Morris latched onto Toto Nsiala's long ball, only to be brought down by Bury keeper Leo Fasan.

But Whalley fired the spot-kick against the post and Stefan Payne's follow-up brushed the side-netting.

Bury remained on top after the break, with O'Shea and Smith combining to put Leigh clean through to slide in the opener.

Dobre was then denied by Henderson while Fasan made a fine save to keep out a fierce strike by Jon Nolan.
