Charlton v Peterborough preview

Team news for Saturday afternoon's League One clash between Charlton and Peterborough at The Valley.

Federico Bassone should return to the Charlton line-up for the visit of Peterborough. The on-loan Leeds defender missed last weekend's 1-0 win over Yeovil with a hamstring injury but hopes to be fit. Bassone will replace Matt Fry, who has gone back to West Ham at the end of his loan spell, at left-back. Manager Chris Powell wants to bring Fry back until the end of the season but he will not rejoin before Saturday. If Bassone is not passed fit, winger Johnnie Jackson will drop into the back four. Midfielder Alan McCormack is a doubt with a hamstring problem so Therry Racon is on standby to return to the starting line-up. Defenders Kelly Youga (knee) and Chris Solly (ankle) remain sidelined although the latter is back in full training. Peterborough captain Grant McCann should be passed fit to face Charlton. Midfielder McCann played the first half of Northern Ireland's 3-0 Carling Nations Cup defeat to Scotland on Wednesday night and is expected to return to London Road fully fit. Fellow midfielder Lee Frecklington is available after an ankle injury and could be included in the matchday squad. Central defender Gabriel Zakuani dislocated a shoulder against Brentford last month but has made an astonishing recovery and could make a surprise return. Striker Dave Hibbert also remains on the sidelines. Hibbert dislocated his knee back in November and is still not fit enough to return but David Ball will continue. Ball made his debut after signing from Manchester City in the 4-4 draw with Southampton last week and will again be involved.
