Full time at Stamford Bridge and the game ends Chelsea 2 Manchester City 1. Torres is the hero and that really didn't look likely after he fluffed a first-half chance over the bar. Joe Hart will come under the spotlight again but the Chelsea fans don't care as they win again at home.
City battle for the ball on the edge of the Chelsea area but Zabaleta is penalised for fouling Terry. Cech will take his time with the free kick.
GOAL!!! (Torres) Wow, what a finish to this match and it could only be Fernando Torres. It's a real calamity for Nastasic and Hart as Willian sends a hopeful pass up the middle of the pitch. Hart comes out to meet the high ball on the edge of the area but Nastasic attempts a header back towards his own goal, which Torres gleefully accepts by running on and tucking it into the empty net from a tight angle.
Mikel now brought down in his own half and Chelsea look to create a winning opportunity by sending it forward down the right.
Willian lashes the ball across towards the back post but no Chelsea attacker can get a vital touch and it flies through for a goal kick.

Chelsea corner from the right is headed away at the front post before the Blues win a throw down by the corner flag.

Ramires tries a dipping shot from all of 30 yards but it doesn't come down in time and Joe Hart had it covered.
The game very much in the balance still here with neither team looking like they're happy to settle for the point just yet.

Oscar's direct shot on goal is not in keeping with his recent form - way over the top and not very pretty at all.
William into the action straight away and puts pressure on City in their own left-back position, forcing a throw.
Double change for Chelsea. Goalscorer Schurrle is replaced by William, while Lampard comes off for John Obi Mikel.
City clear and now send plenty of men forward themselves. David Silva tricks his way through the back line and shoots on target but Cech makes a save with his left foot.

Silva's short corner doesn't work out but he then gets a better chance to put in a cross or shoot. He can't find a City man.
GOAL!!! (Aguero) Nasri slips a pass through to Aguero and he takes Cech by surprise with a first-time strike on his left foot and it flies high into the net at the near post. A wonderful finish from a red-hot centre forward.
Cole does well to put pressure on the City defence and the ball is forced all the way back to Hart. Meanwhile, Negredo and Navas are among the City subs warming up.
Lloyd Francis is pretty happy with that half: "I should have ended my last email 'you heard it here first!' Get in Schurrle!!!"
Sky Bet now make Chelsea 4/11 to go on and complete the victory, with City 8/1 to turn the game around. The half-time PRICE BOOSTS include Chelsea to win 3-0 at 14/1 and Fernando Torres to score next at 9/1. Head to Sky Bet to check out all the in-play markets.
The first half comes to and end with a wayward Toure shot and Chelsea lead 1-0 over Manchester City. A strange half for Torres but he reacted really well to missing that gilt-edged chance and claimed an assist for the Schurrle goal.
Oscar now gets to the byline on the right but his delayed cross has too much venom on it and no Chelsea player headed for the back post. A let-off for City.

Oscar plays the free kick short but Ivanovic can't quite latch onto the pass as he bursts forward down the right.
GOAL!!! (Schurrle) Torres makes amends for his dreadful miss moments earlier with great work down the right before hitting the byline and sending in a low cross that Andre Schurrle can simply tap into the City net.
Toure sends Aguero on his way down the left and he finds the overlapping Clichy but his whipped cross goes harmlessly between Cech and the onrushing attackers out for a goal kick.
Aguero and Toure link well but Oscar wins it back for Chelsea. Ramires puts in another perfect cross and finds Torres on his own in the middle but he fires his effort over the top after chesting the ball into his pass. That was a terrible miss from the striker.
Lampard's free kick is dealt with by Clichy but Chelsea send the ball back into the box. Ramires' cross is a good one but Torres is just offside as he attempts to chest the ball towards goal.
The second name into the book is Zabaleta, who needlessly bumps into the back of Hazard when there was no real chance of taking the ball.
A strange collision between Zabaleta and Hazard results in a throw, with neither player getting anything on the ball, but plenty on either other.
Aguero almost found by a tempting throughball but he can't reach the ball to bring it under control.

Yaya Toure now turns on the style with a good turn on the left which sees his side win another corner. Chelsea clear before a mix-up on the City right results in a goal kick to Chelsea.
Excellent close control from Aguero also sees him in on goal but the defender does enough and the shot is eventually scuffed along the floor with no real power.
Chelsea taking a bit of a breather having been under pressure for the past five minutes. The home side win a free kick just inside their opponents' half but the ball flies through for a goal kick after flicking Cahill's head.

The corner was disappointing from Silva but City regain possession swiftly before a real scramble in the Chelsea box results in another City corner on the left.
Clichy gets forward on the left and finds Nasri, who plays a one-two before shooting just wide. The whistle had gone, though, with Aguero penalised for leaning into Ivanovic.

Hazard and Schurrle link well but City break up the play on the edge of their area and clear the danger.
Alafi Jackson: "Having the two cash giants fully equipped themselves during the transfer window, I expect tough clash with city favorites to rob away the 3 points from the blues' home, with the goals from Negredo and Aguero which I predict to end up 2:1 with blues goal from Oscar."
Lloyd Francis has been in touch with: "Know City have won their last two away games but think they will come unstuck today. Think we can really get at Demichelis today and I think Schurrle will star today. 3-1 Chelsea. Torres, Hazard, Schurrle and the imperious Aguero for City!"
So Negredo is on the bench as City opt to pack the midfield, while Martin Demichelis makes his first start. Gary Cahill keeps David Luiz out of the Chelsea back line. Willian, Eto'o and Juan Mata help give Chelsea a very strong-looking bench.
Ash says: "Hi Matthew, I can see Mourinho working his magic and getting a well deserved 3-1 win. Lampard to score first. Come on Chelsea!!!"
Tanner Redden says: "Very shocked to see City with such a defensive line-up. Looking to be a bore draw, unless Torres can slip one past them."

Chelsea's impressive home record sees them 11/8 favourites with Sky Bet. City are a 21/10 shot and the draw is available at 12/5. Fernando Torres, fresh from his double in midweek, is boosted to 7/1 to score the opening goal, while Sergio Aguero leads the City market and is also boosted to 8/1 to score first. Sky Bet also offer 9/1 that both Torres and Aguero strike during the 90 minutes.

Chelsea team: Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Lampard, Hazard, Oscar, Schurrle, Torres. Subs: Schwarzer, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Mikel, Willian, Mata, Eto'o.
Man City team: Hart, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Nastasic, Clichy, Garcia, Fernandinho, Nasri, Yaya Toure, Silva, Aguero. Subs: Pantilimon, Richards, Milner, Negredo, Dzeko, Kolarov, Navas.
This is very much a clash of two Premier League big-hitters, with both squads worth preposterous sums of money and clearly gunning for title glory, but the corresponding tie last season was a pretty dull 0-0 draw remembered mainly for the manner in which the home fans treated their then new manager Rafa Benitez. I can't imagine Jose Mourinho will be booed down the tunnel should the same result arise. But then again, given the current form of Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo as well as Fernando Torres looking back to something like his best, I can't imagine this one ending goalless.
