Full Time. That's it! Chelsea are through but that hardly tells the tale. It wasn't quite a 7-5 but we if you'd given us another 10 minutes we may well have got there! Incredible game as Chelsea beat Manchester United 5-4. Match report up soon. Thanks for all your messages.
Giggs' corner was cleared and Chelsea went on the break. Hazard did superbly well, twisting and turning before threading a pass to Ramires who rounded Lindegaard and slotted home. That's Chelsea into the quarter-final. Another amazing cup tie.
Superb hold-up play from Sturridge and he finds Moses who spreads the play wide to Hazard who uncharacteristically allows the ball under his foot to go for a throw-in.
Fletcher crosses left-footed from the right and Tunnicliffe is in space on the edge but his volley is a poor one and he's skied it.
Wootton now loses possession to Sturridge in a dangerous area but the forward's curled shot flies high over the bar as he leans back.
Wootton with another header back to goal and the crowd are letting him know it's a risk but this time he just about gets it right.
Dipping shot from David Luiz from the free-kick hits the underside of the bar and then bounces back off Lindegaard and away to safety!
I may have spoken too soon regarding Keane. Now he pulls back Sturridge when seemingly through but the referee is lenient and gives the youngster a yellow card.
Great challenge by Keane on Sturridge. Not sure if there is a battle between him and Wootton to be the next defender in line at Old Trafford but it's one Keane is winning tonight.
Delay as Oscar and Nani have had some fisticuffs. Both are booked after the situation calms down. Nothing in it really.
Long ball from Chelsea and it looks easy for Wootton to just nod the ball back to Lindegaard. Trap it. Kick it. Do anything he likes. But this is turning into a horror show on Halloween for the young defender and he can only head the ball into the path of Sturridge who calmly rounds Lindegaard to score.
Sturridge attempts a one-two with Moses but it's a tired touch from the former Wigan man and runs through to Lindegaard.
Dazzling run from Hazard down the left and he cuts the ball back for Sturridge to shoot. But the striker's effort is blocked and Lindegaard can claim.
Oscar threads a pass through to Sturridge in the right channel and Lindegaard has gone walkabout - never getting there. The keeper backtracks and Sturridge is allowed to turn and shoot but fires straight at the keeper from a narrow angle.
Chelsea kick-off in extra-time. What more is in store for us? Still some way to go for the 7-5 but, well...
Lethargic stuff from United. It all looked over as the 93rd minute came and went but Chelsea were allowed one last shot and when it ricocheted around the area, Wootton desperately jumped to block Ramires and fouled the Brazilian as he was about to shoot. Hazard's nerveless spot-kick means we're going to 120 minutes and beyond.
Goal! Eden Hazard nonchalantly strokes the ball along the ground down the middle. We are going to extra-time!
Another corner to Chelsea. They are piling on the pressure but we are into three minutes of added time.
Oscar with a stinging effort from distance. Lindegaard has not got everything behind it but he has cleared the ball somehow.
Sturridge and Hazard play a one-two inside the area but the effort from the former is just a toe-poke and comfortable for Lindegaard.
Hazard tripped by Wootton on the edge of the box. He's been booked the United player so he's taking a risk there. Chance for Chelsea.
Anderson has been good tonight but that's the end of his evening. Ryan Tunnicliffe on to replace him.
Just as Chelsea want to push, United take control of the ball and play some nice triangles. A lot of players here not used to 90 minutes of this intensity and the game is opening up even more.
Mata enjoying himself now with Oscar and Hazard in support. But Chelsea are running out of time and United remain a threat on the counter.
United break and Anderson does well to get clear. Then he gets the ball back in a central position but shoots wide.
Sturridge with the cut-back and Moses is on the ball eight-yards out - and fires straight at Lindegaard! What a game this is.
Mata finds space in the area and when he releases the ball it clearly hits the defender Keane's arm. The home crowd are up but Mason waves away the appeals. Obvious handball. Less obviously deliberate but the arm was away from the body.
Strage one. Cahill gives the ball away and Hernandez intercepts but the assistant flags for offside against Giggs in the belief that the Welshman must have put the defender off for him to lose it. Hernandez livid.
Wonderful chance for Azpilicueta. Mata with more trickery on the left before standing the cross up to the far post. The full-back is so close in that all he must do is keep the header down but instead he somehow heads over.
The away side taking some of the sting out of the game with a period of possession. Calm before the next storm?
Mata plays two quick one-twos and then passes to Sturridge whose shot is deflected over. Then Mata whips in the corner but Moses' header is too high.
Now Azpilicueta finds space. He's nearly at the right corner of the six-yard box when the cross reaches him but his side-foot volley balloons over the bar.
Hazard feeds a pass into the feet of Sturridge in the box but the striker loses his footing. Chelsea dominating possession but United remain a danger on the break.
Another chance for United. Giggs makes a run off the ball and he takes out three men. He finds Anderson on the edge of the box but the Brazilian's shot is blocked as far as Hernandez who fires over.
United catch Chelsea on the break. Powell feeds Hernandez and the ball breaks to Nani on the edge at the second attempt. He plays a neat one-two with Anderson and then feigns to blast the ball at the onrushing Cech before lofting the ball delicately over the keeper. The visitors lead for a third time.
Now it's Chelsea pressing in midfield to prevent Giggs and Powell slowing things down. Good atmosphere at Stamford Bridge. The home fans sense they are getting stronger here.
Cahill gets away from Wootton and powers the ball at goal. Rafael does get a head to it impressively, but he's behind the line. Clear on the replays but that's a good call from the assistant referee. Let's just be glad he got that one right, put it that way...
Unbelievably poor from United for the corner. Sturridge is left unmarked - literally the only player in the six-yard box other than the man on the back post and the keeper! But when the corner comes in quickly as United daydream, Sturridge attempts a flicked effort and misses the ball. Awful football all round.
Really positive start from Powell and now he creates a chance for United on the edge of the box but Nani and Welbeck get in each other's way.
Quick shift of the ball from Powell and he fires a low shot towards the corner that Cech is forced to push behind.
United kick-off and we are underway in this second half. Buttner really did struggle there so he is off, with Rafael switching to left-back and Fletcher dropping in on the right.
Davie: "Very intriguing match we've got here. First I have to say it's good to be commenting on football not controversy here. Here's hoping the same in the second half. I'd say it will finish the same way as the last match with less controversy. One for Ando and one for Lucas Piazon. United winners of course as I am a United fan."
Asim: "Good match, looks like another big score today like Arsenal's yesterday. Final score 4-3 - Manchester United to win."
Nathan: "Good 1st half from the Red Devils, they need to keep it up for 2nd half. I would have used a stronger defence if it were me."
Evan: "Been a sloppy first half for both teams but if Chelsea use their subs wisely then a win could come their way."
Thanks to Ian for the plugging of Sky Plus. But not sure about that regarding the penalty. Poor from Buttner to lunge in and miss the ball. Moses went down to avoid ploughing into the defender's legs.
Ian: "It goes against my every instinct and breaks my heart to defend United. However with Sky Plus, which is a great thing, if you press pause, then play/pause the replay it's clear Moses dives. Blatant. There is zero contact and the player is diving before the challenge comes in. Not Mason's fault but look closely, and you see it.
Half Time. That's the end of the first half. Good game but it's been three poor defensive decisions that have brought the goals. United lead Chelsea 2-1.
David Luiz attempts one of his trademark runs forward but loses the ball and United are clinical. Anderson threads the ball through to Hernandez - who is just onside this time - and the Mexican forward makes no mistake as he slots the ball past Cech left-footed. Similar to the first goal of the game - self-inflicted error by Chelsea but ruthless finishing from United.
Moses turns up on the left. He puts a ball into the area but it misses everyone and Sturridge is forced to retrieve. He lays the ball back to Romeu who wastes possession when well placed.
Good work by Giggs and Anderson as they create space on the right but when the latter attempts a one-two with Nani the return ball is poor. The Portuguese man then exarcebates things by conceding a free-kick.
Welbeck has time to shoot from distance but he goes for the sidefoot and Cech stoops to pick up the weak effort.
First period of possession for United since conceding the equaliser. Comes to nothing but they needed that.
Another lofted ball finds Sturridge in space in the left channel. The angle drives him wide and he then volleys wildly over the bar from an acute angle.
Luiz converts well and the home side just about deserve that - if only for the fact that it came through good work from Moses. He has been their best player so far.
Fantastic skills from Welbeck and Fletcher until the England man allows the ball to run out of play. It's been a bright start by United but they shouldn't be too flash just yet.
Now Moses is fouled on the right-wing and Chelsea have a chance to put the ball in from a good area.
Cech passes the goal-kick out to Romeu on the edge of the area but the midfielder is under pressure and his control lets him down. Anderson robs him and finds Giggs on the edge of the box. With the Chelsea centre-backs having split to receive passes out wide, Giggs has time to pick his spot in the corner and finishes in expert fashion.
Good movement from Chelsea as two flicks put Moses into the area. He just needs to beat Wootton inside the box but seems to trick himself and tumbles to the floor just as Sturridge did - only this time Moses grabs the ball and the referee blows for handball.
Mata crosses from the left but that's just over the head of Sturridge. The hosts need to get the Spaniard on the ball more.
Now Giggs plays the ball out to Welbeck on the left who cuts inside on his right foot and fires the ball at Cech. In similar fashion to the Nani effort, the skipper gathers well.
Welbeck tries to shepherd the ball out of play but Moses is alert and gets past him only for a foul to be given.
Positive start from the visitors but there does look to be joy for Chelsea if they can get at this inexperienced centre-back pairing.
Nani with a well struck free-kick but Cech saves. It was right at the goalkeeper but did bounce awkwardly so it was a good hold with Hernandez sniffing.
Buttner with a positive run but Romeu steps across in cynical fashion. First booking of the evening.
Ambitious ball from Luiz nearly finds Bertrand but there isn't enough angle to the pass and Lindegaard is off his line to collect.
Anderson and Giggs trying to get some control and engineer space for Rafael to get to the byline but his cross is defended well.
Free-kick chance for United but they prefer to pass the ball around and retain possession for a spell.
Oh dear. After Buttner gives it away, Moses plays a brilliantly through-ball to put Sturridge one-on-one with Lindegaard but the striker stumbles over the ball and tumbles to the ground as it runs out for a goal-kick. Embarrassing.
Welbeck and Hernandez come deep to get involved and then Giggs plays a lovely ball out to Buttner but the full-back is tackled.
Awful pass by Fletcher puts Sturridge in the clear and running at Keane. He has an easy pass out to the unmarked Mata but gets it wrong with his weaker foot and the chance is gone. Sloppy spell.
Now Luiz is breaking forward and advancing on Fletcher. He gets within shooting range but blasts the ball well over the bar with his left foot.
Early touch for Cech and it isn't a good one as he kicks low down the centre but it eludes the United forwards and the Chelsea skipper gets away with it.
Thanks for all your feedback. Petr Cech and Ryan Giggs are ready to lead their respective teams out. We'll be underway shortly.
Enrique: "Watchout for Nani today - he fell down the pecking order so i expect him to try and prove a point to SAF. United to win 2-1."
Chelsea and Manchester United have been drawn together three times in the past, with the Red Devils winning the two one-off ties and Chelsea progressing over two legs with a home draw and an away win in the 2005 semi-final.
James: "I think tonight will be a real Halloween horror show, I feel for Lee Mason. I'm a huge United fan and think we will record a 3-1 win."
Javier Hernandez has scored in five of eight appearances against Chelsea in all competitions and in three of the last four.
Harry: "I am sick to death with those Chelsea fans complaining; we are the better side, no ifs or buts. Anyway, you make your own luck. I'm going for 2-0 United, with Chicharito continuing his rich vein of form."
So many tipping United. I'm not so sure myself. Di Matteo has given himself some options on the bench with Oscar, Eden Hazard and Ramires. Ferguson has given Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie the night off.
James: "I'm going to go out on a limb here & say Man Utd will confirm their superiority tonight with 2-1 win. Hernandez is in great form & will relish the start up front playing off Welbeck. So the Blues will be quietened once again by the Devils on a Halloween fright night!!! Hernandez to score 1st goal & Giggs to secure the win."
Rob: "After getting robbed at the weekend Chelsea to come back strong and score some revenge 4-2 and put ManU in their place today...out of the cup!"
Terry says: "The ref will be under a lot of pressure after last weekend's controversy. I'd like United to win with no send-offs and no apparent offside goals just to prove a point. A draw would be disappointing. ManU 3 Chelsea 2."
William: "Keep an eye on Sturridge for good forward action, but my money is on United (being a Red) to take the match 4-2."
Too much feedback for me to keep up. Is this the renaissance of the League Cup? Probably not but I'm looking forward to this game. Chelsea have got more first-teamers out there but Sir Alex Ferguson has hardly sent a bunch of novices himself. You'll recognise the lad Giggs in midfield...
Ben: "After the ongoing controversy from the weekend I would love to see us thrash them outright. Looking forward to seeing Keane. Hope Luiz plays like our 12th man again. 0-3 the score with Nani and a Hernandez brace."
But United have also won five and lost none of the last six matches against Chelsea in all competitions.
Manchester United have lost eight and won just three of their last 13 League Cup matches against top flight opponents on the road.
Phillip: "Think round 2 will be great, looking forward to seeing youngsters like Powell and Piazon, going for 3-1 to United."
Joshua: "This is going to be a great game of football but I can see Chelsea winning 2-1 and I'm a United fan."
Gavin: "Di Matteo will be looking for a bit of payback tonight, but I think United will know this and push harder. United to win 3-1."
Jay: "Strong Chelsea line up. Still fancy United though. Can't see the ref giving Chelsea anything."
Aaron says "Happy Halloween! Let's hope for a terrifying encounter! United come into it on form with five in a row and Chelsea having lost their last two. A few reds? Probably. Let's hope for a great game! I think a 2-0 win for United - Valencia and Hernandez with the goals!"
John: "As a true Manu fan, I have my money on my boys in red, but I expect a few big names will not appear tonight. Could be a tough game."
Justin says: "Just coming to end of night shift in Brisbane and hoping as a massive Utd fan we get up 2-1 with Welbeck getting a double!! Go UTD!!"
With both sides ringing the changes, Chelsea are 10/1 to secure victory in extra-time and 18/1 is available for either side to win on penalties.
Our friends at Sky Bet have the odds for this one. Chelsea are 21/20 favourites with United the 9/4 underdogs.

A place in the quarter final is at stake and while Arsene Wenger doesn't take this competition too seriously (or at least he didn't until about 9.30pm last night) one of these two sides has won this trophy in five of the last eight seasons.
There was a game here between these sides on Sunday. Quiet affair by all accounts. Let's hope we are entertained for the right reasons this evening. 7-5 would do.
