Full-time - It's all over at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea beat Newcastle 2-0 thanks to Hazard's penalty and Torres' first-half goal.
Ben Arfa floats a cross into the box as Newcastle try a last-ditch attack but Cahill is there to nod it clear.
The rain is really coming down as these final minutes play out. Cech hoofs a long ball upfield and it goes out for a Toon throw.
Luiz is back on his feet with a bandage wrapped around his head to finish the game. It doesn't look like this is going to be Newcastle's day.
We're into the final minute of regular time at the Bridge and Luiz is still receiving treatment after that knock to the head from Ba. Four additional minutes are added again this half.
Newcastle win a throw inside their own half which Gutierrez launches towards Ba. The winger charges upfield and is there to dig a cross in for the striker, and Luiz gets a bump on the head trying to get there first.
There's a mistimed challenge from Perch on Hazard and the Chelsea man goes to ground, earning the hosts a free-kick.
It looks like Chelsea are preparing another change, with Lampard looking ready to come on for these dying minutes.
There's a chance for Newcastle as Marveaux sets up Ba with a great cross. The striker blunders his first effort but gets his second away, with Cech diving to save.
Marveaux tries to slot a ball into the box, but Mikel, dropping deep to defend, has it covered and clears for the hosts.
Back on the ball, Newcastle look for a way through but Ryan Taylor overhits a cross from the right and Chelsea win a throw.
Hazard takes the corner but it's dealt with by the Magpies backline. Chelsea are the ones pushing now as the minutes trickle down.
Torres is involved again, playing in Hazard, and the Belgian darts past Coloccini into the box. Bertrand wins a corner for the hosts seconds later.
Torres does well, skipping towards goal, but chooses not to pull the trigger and instead looks for Ramires, who can't keep it in.
Ramires breaks for Chelsea after pouncing on a rogue ball and earns a free-kick after a foul by Gutierrez.
It's Meireles, but rather like Luiz, he fails to make the most of the chance, blasting his effort over the bar.
Chelsea win another free-kick from 10 yards outside the box, with several potential takers lining up, but it could be Luiz again.
Torres chips in a cross, looking for Ramires in the penalty area, but the Chelsea man can't quite bring it down.
Ben Arfa and Cabaye link up in midfield, seeking a way through, but the Chelsea defence are doing their job to keep them contained.
Newcastle win a throw in midfield, which Cabaye takes, and it rolls back to Coloccini in the Magpies half.
No luck for Luiz as he blasts his free-kick high and into the stands. Back to Krul it goes and Newcastle start to build from deep again.
There's a clumsy tackle from Gutierrez on Meireles and Chelsea win a free-kick from a very good position, central and fairly close.
R Taylor puts a great ball in as he takes a free-kick for Newcastle and Cisse rises but his header is off-target. Wasted chance for the Toon.
Mikel frees Torres after getting away from Ba but there's no support as Santon reclaims the ball. Cole fires a long cross in from the left but overshoots Torres.

Newcastle are preparing to make their first change. Ben Arfa, looking bright this half, tries to dance his way into the Chelsea box and ends up winning a corner for the visitors.
Ba is caught by Torres inside the visitors' half and Newcastle take a quick free-kick, then are given another for a foul on Cabaye in midfield.
As before, it's not a great corner from Cabaye and goes out for a Newcastle throw, which Ben Arfa takes. Chelsea break again but Gutierrez keeps Torres at bay in front of goal.
Santon launches a cross into the box but it's headed clear. Newcastle come back again as Cabaye finds Ba and Cech is called into action. Toon corner.
Anita fouls Mikel inside the Chelsea half and the Blues win a free-kick, which Luiz takes, but Ivanovic can't keep it in.
Mikel charges up the pitch on the break and tries to slot the ball through for Torres but the Newcastle defence intervene.
The Blues give the ball away in midfield and Cabaye lifts it upfield for Ba, but he loses it to Cahill and Chelsea are back in possession.
Torres and Santon rise to meet a long ball upfield and the Chelsea man wins the battle but nods it out for a Newcastle throw.
Simpson floats a ball into the box from the right and Cisse gets his head to it but can't keep his effort down.
Gutierrez tries a long-range shot, which was never troubling Cech, but it's positive stuff from Newcastle in the early minutes of this half, with Santon pushing forward more.
Ben Arfa tries a shot on the edge of the box but scuffs his shot wide. Better from Newcastle though.
Santon tries a run but is closed down by the Blues defence. Ben Arfa and Ba pair up in the middle of the park.
Hazard weaves his way around the box and Gutierrez is forced to put the ball out for a Chelsea throw on the right.
Cabaye looks for Ba with a long diagonal ball towards the right-hand corner but he's covered by Cole. The rain is pouring down in West London.
Bertrand overhits a ball in the Blues box but it's picked up by Torres. Ivanovic and Mata link up well down the right, exchanges passes.
Newcastle win a throw inside their own half, which Santon takes. Cabaye, who has stayed on after that late knock in the last half, searches for a way through in midfield.
It's the Magpies that get things started this half and they're trying to build from deep, but a long ball rolls back to Cech, helped on by Luiz.
Neil from London wrote in - "As an avid Chelsea fan I must say we have made a promising start to both this game and the season. Hazard already looks settled and if he continues playing like this in the second half I cannot see a way back for Newcastle. They are a strong side and don't expect them to roll over. Not with Cisse and Ba anyway, but I think Chelsea have got this in the bag now. Hazard to add another and maybe Cisse to pull one back. 3-1."

Thoughts on that half? It's been frustrating for Newcastle, with Ba and Cisse not getting much service, while Chelsea's attacking force are looking stronger and stronger.
Hazard really isn't wasting any time making a name for himself on the Premier League stage - the Belgian has notched up 1 goal and 6 assists in 3 games.
Half-time - The whistle blows and Newcastle end the half on a low note after that late Chelsea goal and Cabaye's injury. Hazard was the star of the show once again in that opening half, with Torres also looking dangerous.
Cabaye looks in some discomfort, with his leg appearing to be the problem, but he's helped to his feet by the Newcastle physio.
Chelsea will be happy with that just before the break. The seconds trickle down this half and Cabaye is down for Newcastle after a collision.
Sheer quality from Chelsea as Torres and Hazard indulge in some wonderful build-up play before the striker pokes it home from in front of goal and Krul can't reach to push it out.
Chelsea are pressing in the aftermath of the corner. They've had the attacking advantage in this half, with seven attempts to Newcastle's three.
Luiz rises to head a long Cabaye ball clear and Torres makes a break. The striker goes down off a Coloccini challenge and appeals for a free-kick, but has to settle with a corner won by Mata.

It's a powerful delivery from Cabaye but Mikel is there to head it straight back out. Chelsea break through Torres but the flag goes up as he tries to find Meireles with a searching ball.
Cabaye drifts a long diagonal ball over into the left-hand corner, which Santon picks up. There's a good chance for Newcastle as they win a free-kick from far out on the left.
Ben Arfa picks out Cisse after a great run but he can't quite find strike partner Ba with the cross from the right.
It's Torres that gets the booking for simulation. Not necessarily the right decision from Dowd but it was a tough one to call on first viewing.
Torres goes down after being caught by Coloccini's right foot and the home crowd are not happy. Referee Phil Dowd is taking action...
There's some patient passing play from Chelsea but Ba and Cisse drive them backwards into their own end. The ball eventually rolls back to Krul, who sprays it out to Simpson.
Torres takes a while to dust himself down after a challenge but play carries on. Hazard drops deep to trade passes with Luiz.
Taylor heads a Meireles ball onto Hazard with a poor clearance and the Chelsea man lashes at it but can't get his shot on target.
Mata and Hazard link up again, looking dangerous with some wonderful play, but Coloccini is there to block the shot.
Meireles gives away a foul in midfield and Newcastle are handed a free-kick, which Cabaye steps up to take, but Luiz gets his head to it.
Torres causes problems for Coloccini as he charges towards goal but doesn't manage to shrug off the Toon man in the box and the chance goes begging.
After some lovely build-up play, Cole fires a cross into the box and Ivanovic arrives with a good header, but Krul holds firm.

Luiz goes to the floor now after a collision with Cisse, which looked accidental. It's an awkward fall for the Blues man.

Meireles was involved in a challenge with Gutierrez before he went down but it didn't look much of anything. After a lull in play, the Chelsea man gets to his feet.

@KidBrods feels it was a smart call by Di Matteo to bring on Bertrand - "I can see why Ramires is dropped, Bertrand give more cover for Cole against HBA than Mata, Ramires or Hazard would."
Tony Palmer thinks Pardew will have the Blues all figured out - "Pardew will have done his homework. Contain Hazard and let Cisse and the Sheep(Ba) do the work. 1-2 Newcastle. Toon Toon!!"
The same fixture last season saw Newcastle triumph 2-0, with Papiss Cisse grabbing a brilliant brace, and Pardew has already said he's targeting a repeat.
New Chelsea signings Cesar Azpilicueta, a right-back from Marseille, and Victor Moses from Wigan won't feature today but have been introduced to the Stamford Bridge crowd by the Blues.
